caught several of them over the last two days - Arizona/ASU, Clemson/UVA, Pitt/UNC

even the winners were not exceptional in their executions; and that is typical of college basketball. and it really makes SU stand out this year, where the Orange are not perfect but they have been so much less likely to make a mistake than their opponents that it is remarkable.

today is another example . . . SU was not perfect, but was better than our opponent. Again. Still.

The Orange manufactured the extra possessions they needed to win the game, the Pack handed their possessions away.

As long as SU can stay in contact with any opponent, I like their chances of pulling it out in the end.

hey ennis made 2 huge mistakes. very atypical of his stellar play so far this year but big mistakes nonetheless.

Basketball IQ. There was no timeout or much time for JB to set the last trap. The players did that and they tried for a steal before fouling. This game is just another thing that adds to their Bball IQ. The other thing we have is leadership and lots of it. A lot of teams do not have one leader, mean the less three(CJ, TE, RAK). CJ and RAK have experienced similar situations in the past. They may have not had the same outcome as today, but imo it helped them know where to be and what to do in that situation today. State had sophmore "chucker" TJ Warren as their leader, and he did not get the ball in the most crucial of times, someone else did.

Here's a nice stat from ESPN.

This was the 7th time this season that Syracuse has been tied or trailing with 5 minutes left in regulation, winning each. The Orange have outscored their opponents by 43 points the rest of the way in those games with their opponents shooting a combined 6-of-49 from the floor, including 1-of-19 from the 3-point line.

Here is another astounding statistic.

When Syracuse is trailing or tied in the final minute of the 2nd half and overtime this season, the Orange have outscored their opponents 17-0 (including 3-0 against NC State). They're shooting 4-for-5 in those situations (first miss was against NC State), while their opponents are shooting 0-for-4.

yeah, but I specifically said we are not perfect, just better than our opponents. despite our mistakes, we kept creating opportunities and finally punched through. State couldn't. Another big close out - 11 to 5 to finish

I think Ennis has hit the freshman wall these past couple games. I literally do not remember him making a mistake in a big spot, and he has a handful of them these past couple games.

Technically, Pitt scored a point when the game was tied in the last minute on Wednesday (Zanna's 2nd FT put them ahead by 1). :p
