I'm sure he's going to be a good one, but not so far. I can live with the missed shots but not with the lazy defense. This needs to be corrected quickly.
The fact he had no points doesn't bother me (considering what else he did), but 0 for 6 from the field does. We will need him to do a little scoring to keep defenses honest.
Having said that, I was pleased with his "field general" role (except the turnovers) which included 7 assists and team leading 8 rebounds. To be honest, he looked a little timid to me for most of the game until about midway through the second half. I think being way behind in the first half intimidated him a bit as a mistake would have been large at that point of the game. I want to see him drive the lane a little more.
There has been some early, very high expectations for him which can be difficult to live up to. I think the kid will be just fine and I look forward to watching him progress.
Agree. That floater will begin to drop; the perimeter defense will sag off when he shows he can make a couple of threes. He'll be ok.
Defensively, we'll see. Could take a little more time on that end.
Also agree, he needs to be given the greenlight all year for that if that floater becomes consistant by midseason, or march it will make us a much better team.
Hell, the OP went up during the game.
