I know this topic has been beaten to death here but I am sick and tired of having to read AA's blog as the league blog on ESPN. Once again she has the Orange out of a Bowl game and has two open Big East spots in her latest projections. In the post before though she goes on to say how the Orange are in the race for the league title and can give Louisville a run for it's money in the dome. So in one post she thinks we can make a run for the title but in another she does not think we can get two more wins with Temple and Mizzou on the schedule.

She has to cater to the Big East fans which means she has to praise Rutgers (even when she admits they don't play anyone), while diminishing Syracuse and Pitt's relevance.

At least she is honest enough to admit Syracuse can play the spoiler/kingmaker for the Big East crown.

Rutgers has Army, Cincy Pitt and Louisville left. Probably 2, possibly three losses; they should beat Army.
Louisville has Temple, Syracuse, UConn and Rutgers left. I see two definite wins (Temple, UConn) a probable win (Rutgers) and toss up (Syracuse).
Cincy has Syracuse, Temple, Rutgers, USF and UConn. Two definite wins is Temple and UConn; probable wins over USF and Rutgers (at worst a split) and a toss up wit Syracuse.

As Rutgers, Cincy and Louisville are all have to play each other, only one can come out standing or they could split and go 1-1, either way leaves Syracuse in the best position to spoil everything.

I have seriously given up listening or reading any of these types of people...they all have too much of an agenda and know who pays their bills or have a bias or just simply have no idea or clue what they are talking about.

AA is the 2nd string ACC blogger for ESPN. People will continue to be annoyed by her.

I am not sure I disagree with her, it is going to take a monumental task for us to go 500 these last 4 games. Not saying it can't be done and I am pumped up to watch it unfold. 3 of 4 are on the road and our one home game is against the number 10 team in the BCS standings. Missouri plays in the SEC. yeah, they are struggling in the league but their QB Has missed a ton of time, but he came in in their win vs. Kentucky and looks like he is getting healthy. Just trying to be objective here, but a lot has to go right for us down the stretch!

Go cuse!

how do you see us making a bowl? Do you think we beat cinci, l'ville and mizzou?

Win one of the 3 and then beat Temple and we will be Pinstripe Bowl bound against the Mpuntaineers. We will bring the Schwarzwalder Trophy with us.

ugh. i keep forgetting that you can include one dAA team. thats dumb but good for us.

I would argue Stonybrook is better team UCONN...

thats more a criticism of the pathetic BE (and marrone's inability to crush this sad little conf) than it is a compliment of SB.

I have to say one of the best things about winning is not hearing Tristans uber negative posts. Lets keep winning so we can be free of that nonsense please.

here reasoning is sound we will be underdog in 3 of 4 and 3 of 4 on road

if we do get to 6-6 it will be us or pitt in pinstripe bowl since they should be able to make a bowl with there schedule

We won the last battle for that throphy it is ours to keep in perpetuity. If we played them in the Pinstripe it would be for the Pinstripe Bowl Trophy.

The overall level of play that SU has right now is more like a 6-2 team. They are getting to a bowl. The question is, which one.

Here's where we are based on the latest 1-124 rankings done by USA Today (ranking of team in parentheses). SU at 4-4 is currently #67 in their poll.

SU Wins
Stony Brook (NA - FCS)
Pittsburgh (72)
Connecticut (94)
South Florida (97)

SU Losses
Northwestern (31)
USC (20)
Minnesota (77)
Rutgers (34)

Remaining Games
Cincinatti (41)
Louisiville (11)
Missouri (66)
Temple (80)

If you look at it by the rankings, the only team that we really should have beaten thus far that we didn't is Minnesota. We haven't upset anyone to date. Of the 7 games we've played in, the only one that couldn't have been decided by 2 series going one way or the other was the UCONN game. We could be 1-7 just as easily as 7-1.

I fully expect Temple to be a win, if we lose game we don't deserve to go bowling anyway. So really, we need to win 1 of the Cincy, L'ville, Missou group - clearly Missouri looks like the best opportunity. We will end up between 5-7 and 7-5, I'm confident of that, but the games have been so close thus far that it's literally impossible to get a good feel as to how the rest of the season plays out. Louisville is they type of team that we could still lose to even if we play perfect, but they're the only team remaining on the schedule that falls into that category. The rest of the teams are all beatable as long as we execute.

The problem with making a conckusion with a backward look ia that those rankings are based upon NW and rutgirls beating us. We should have won both, and if wr had, the rankings would be different. Its not as simple as saying NW is ranked higher so we shouldn't have won.

That's the single dumbest thing you've ever said on this board.

It's a criticism of Connecticut. And a compliment to Stony Brook. Nothing more.

This could be another 2004 season where SU forces a 4-way tie for the BE title and Rutgers gets a crappy bowl like BC did. :)

All we gotta do is win, baybee!
