Anyone who says TD can’t be a Division I quarterback given the right circumstances is nuts. Certainly has the arm strength, but the key is “given the right circumstances“.

Those circumstances, meaning a solid top 20 offensive line here year in and year out, those circumstances just won’t happen here with any regularity.   No read back through my posting history ad I’ve always said the same thing, this guy needs to be able to sit back and dink and dunk, throw the intermediates and throw the flys without the fear of getting crushed most plays.  Simply not our reality, again with any regularity.   He’s too small to absorb the punishment, too lacking in quickness to get out of trouble consistently, unable to create when things break down.

GS has all those qualities while lacking in The arm department much in the way Eric Dungey did.  But good enough in the arm department, and dynamic enough in the other departments mentioned above to be the better of the two is what I think is going to play out.

TD will have his chance, has earned the opportunity to have that chance and if he’s evolved and grown in every respect i’ll be happy to eat crow on this.   He’s respected, because he’s taken a punishment like a warrior, has certainly shown ability, his teammates know he hasn’t had enough help and by all accounts is a good dude/well liked.

It’s not a matter of him sucking THAT bad nor a lack of respect to necessitate the need to freeze him out, but everybody wants to win.  So you give him a shot, but if it doesn’t happen everybody will be fine with giving the new guy shot to see if he can do it.

If not well then we’re flucked to deal with another long season.
