Syracuse at Georgetown from 2003. My friends and I road tripped to this game (and it took us about 7 hours to drive back because the fog was so thick).

This is the game I'll always remember for what happened later that night, when we went out to the bars around Georgetown and after a few adult beverages, one of my roommates just started wandering the streets outside the bars screaming "%#K GEORGETOWN!" at the top of his lungs, and not single Hoya fan said a word. I have to believe it would have been different if an opposing fan started cursing Syracuse on Marshall Street.

Wow, what a freshman class... Carmelo, McNamara and Edelin...

Remember that game well, saturday afternoon. Another 2nd half comeback that that team specialized in. Those double digit comebacks definitely helped us in the tourny, didnt panic after falling behind by 16 to okie state.

God must have been on your side that night that would never happen again without one of you getting stabbed

Four quick observations from watching this game from nine years ago.

1) I can't believe it's been nine fricken years.
2) From the sounds of it, we owned that arena even then
3) People forget that we never would have won the NC without Billy Edelin
4) As key as Craig Forth was to that team, Fab Melo is million times better than Craig Forth.

Has to be one of the best recruiting classes in Big East history. Not bad considering it was only 3 players, 1 who only stayed for one year and another who played the equivalent of a about a year of basketball while at Cuse.

I forgot just how totally dominant CA was in college. My goodness...

Too bad Billy Edelin didn't get to show more of his talent at Syracuse. He was really, really good. But I hear he is doing pretty well these days so that is great.

Wasn't Billy technically part of the prior year's class?

Carmelo 5 for 13 in FT...Ouch...didn't realize that.

man that mike sweetney used to drop some crazy numbers on us. gotta be on the list of top ten cuse killers.

Once every few years we get a guy with uncanny court vision and passing ability. In the 80's, it was Sherman Douglas. In the 90's, it was Lazarus Sims (still my favorite player ever, by the way). In the 00's, it was Billy Edelin. The dude was an exceptional passer. Absolutely exceptional.

Oh, and in the 10's, it's MCW.

i caught the first 03 matchup yesterday and during the broadcast raf says that boeheim (not prone to exaggeration)
believes that if carmelo returns they're a final four team next year. kinda funny in retrospect.

Preach it brother...
