ESPN Q&A W/ Coach Shafer

he mentioned 8 different receivers but not Fundy. It's clear that *something* is up with that guy. It's just weird that nobody can actually say what it is.

Motivation?

Just as he didn't mention Keenan Hale.

There are a huge numbers of receivers competing for spots on the depth chart he can't list them all in every interview.

That's fine, but not being top of mind (or even eight of mind) with your boss, especially when you've been notably absent from the field probably means something. If he was doing what a lot of us hoped he was doing, he wouldn't be forgotten. If my boss ever listed 8 people who do stuff like me but not me, that's telling me something.

Prior to this interview they've all been absent from the field for months. Let's give the players a practice, or two, to remind HCSS and OCGM of their abilities before we write them off.

Has WRQF been a mystery so far? You bet.
This is his make-it or break-it season. Hopefully things go his way and he goes from being a mystery to the WR that we all expected/hoped that he would be.

Maybe QF just isn't that good? Other than his ranking coming out of HS, what exactly has he done that says "Wow, get this kid on the field". He is big, so was Lavar Lobdell. Maybe Funderburk just doesn't have what it takes to succeed at this level... We have a ton of options, I am excited to see who rises to the top.

I thought the most interesting thing to come out of the Q&A is that Marcus Coleman is going to be put on the field. Good to know the staff is confident in him. Those extra 30lbs shows he's motivated. Will be interesting to see what happens with Coleman, but if he is able to step in and give us help up the middle that will be huge for us. Kind out of left field help that can solidify the position.
