Obviously this means nothing and is just one person's opinion, but we come in at #41, ahead of schools like Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Rutgers, Pitt, BC and several others. I interpret this as a compliment. Certainly, we want to continue to move up.

I'm surprised he had Georgia Tech and Duke higher than us.

That is a joke, his reasoning doesn't fit on either of those teams. Georgia Tech has the worst record of any team in the ACC over the last 6 years not counting the covid year.

They have not one but two real good qb's.

And we beat them that year :)

Georgia Tech has recruited well. I think that they are going to be very good this year. Perhaps even better than Miami. As for Duke, 9-4 last year and they went out and got a good young QB with multiple years. Injuries could de-rail either team... but barring that, both are formidable opponents for us. The notion that going 6-0 at home is easy is absurd. This is a season that could end very ugly for us. Fran is not punting on it... but it is a ridiculous schedule. Had we scheduled OOC reasonably, it would still have been a raw deal from the ACC.

If it was just 2025, we would rate lower. But because it was looking at 2025-2026, it boosted our rating. If Fran can survive this year and still recruit incoming/transfers, the future is very bright.

Dukes schedule was absolute trash last year and while not much stronger this year don’t be surprised if they lose 5 or 6.

In a world where FSU can go from 13-0 to 2-10, Duke going 7-5 or 6-6 is absolutely on the table. But, by that token, 3-9 is on the table for us too.

That's a nice write up. More respect than we've been shown in a long time.

Yes. This upcoming season is a big risk. I'm personally disappointed at a handful of the losses on the lines of scrimmage. I think that's going to hurt.

If we can make a bowl against that schedule, that would be good. Keep the momentum going a bit.

But if we can win 8 games against that gauntlet, we will have won 2 or 3 big time television games.

That would set us up for a potential 10+ win season in 2026, and a quality bowl game, maybe even the playoffs with the way these guys recruit.

I agree with much of what you wrote, looking at the strengths of those schools is critical. And although the slate if teams we face is difficult, that schedule is what many of the best teams in the country face almost yearly.
My point is only that if we want SU to be included among the top 10 teams, we can't shy away or bemoan the fact that the schedule is hard.
We can examine Rutgers schedule when they were beating cupcakes and fans crowed about their inflated record to realize that isn't the way to true greatness.
But despite feelings about this, I'll be wringing my hands for each game, no doubt.

I am an old school fan, too, and am used to SU doing home and home series with Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia Tech (pre-ACC), Purdue, and all sorts of other teams, going back to the the 50s. But there is a difference between having one or two premier opponents on your schedule and facing a literal murders row of teams this year, most of which are on the road. That is really tough scheduling. But as Pasqualoni once said, "the hottest flame makes the strongest steel", or something to that effect.

GT got hammered in the portal. they had some absolute stars transfer. Key is doing a great job rebuilding though.

I don't think many teams face this sort of schedule: 4 teams that were in the playoffs last season, plus GT and Miami--all on the road.

According to On3 and 247 we aren’t even top 10 in SOS
