... except for 1
While the BE isn't as strong at the top as in years past; this is the first year where there are truly no "easy wins". DePaul, USF and Providence are all very capable teams this year. Pitt and Nova are in last and they have 2 of hte better players (Gibbs, Wayns) and coaches in the Big East. No win can be taken for granted this year.Big East is so tough to figure out this year. I was quite surprised by the SJU over Cinci and ND over Lville results. WVU over Gtown didn't surprise me, few teams win in Morgantown.
We really need to make a nice run in January while our schedule is manageable. I'd love to be 10-0 or 9-1 by the start of February. We could end up with a 2 or 3 game lead in the BE if that happens. Our schedule in Feb is difficult, so we need to stockpile wins. 15-3 is the goal for BE games this year.
I agree with your post. I'll also expand on that. I think the reason why you have the "no easy wins" thing is that there are a lot of young (but talented) teams in the Big East this year. Many of these teams struggled early in the year (SJU, ND, etc), but are starting to come together. These teams are capable of pulling an upset on any given night. While the BE isn't as strong at the top as in years past; this is the first year where there are truly no "easy wins".
