There is room for improvement everywhere.

Coaching -- 1. Nix the Rotation: rotating fresh bodies just to do it shouldn't be a goal. The only time it is wise is if you are running guys full bore at a position to the point where they get gassed and you sub in nearly equally talented and effective players to do the same thing and keep rotating them. Rotating 4 or 5 RB in without any regard to play call, down and distance, as they have been doing, is a huge negative. It disrupts flow and often places players in a position to fail. I've been saying since Spring that they need to pick a back to be the primary carrier and he gets the vast majority of touches absent a special package near the goal line or third and short. Otherwise, a couple of carries to a backup for change of pace or for a breather is what you should be doing. PTG to start, AAM for short yardage, and a change of pace or breather back. I'm a huge GMII fan, so its difficult to say this, but he should only be playing other than as a breather if he has overtaken PTG and proven more effective at hitting holes, pass blocking, and picking up yards. Same thing with WR. Figure out which 4 block, get open, catch the ball and gain yards the best and play them. We have 4 that are arguably the most effective. Play those 4, not 8 just for the sake of playing 8. If you are going to play specific guys beyond those 4, do it where it makes sense by down and distance not haphazardly with no rhyme or reason. Having Custis waiting on a screen throw behind the line of scrimmage is a very bad idea and negates his attributes. Sending him downfield in the seam maximizes his attributes.
2. Play calling -- I actually liked the play calling much better in this game, but put guys in a position to succeed by matching play call and player role in the play with their abilities. See above as to RB and WR.
3. Keep moving the offensive game plan downfield. North-South not East-West. It is generally moving that direction -- keep it moving. Our OLine has the best talent all around that we've had for 5 years and should be dominating in the trenches. Nova game they get a pass due to injuries. CMU and MD, the oline generally played dominating ball. Hunt had plenty of time all day to make downfield throws and they created huge holes for the RB. Get the ball, get through the hole and knock off the sweeps.
4. Special teams needs some attention. Norton missing a 25 yard FG has become expected. Punt block was bad coaching and horrendous lack of effort.

OLine -- Generally did a decent job but a couple of penalties were both bad calls and unforgiveable. The 2 holding calls to make if 2nd and goal from the 29 negating 1 or arguably 2 TDs.

QB -- Gotta throw the ball with more accuracy than that. Hunt had all day and he's had a year now of first team snaps. He is running well, making tacklers miss and getting into the end zone. The slow, plodding, picking, bobbing and weaving running style is working well so far, but its going to get him killed, be ineffective and result in fumbles when we play the big boys because they won't miss tackles, they will pound him and he won't get far being so slow. More important, in goal line situations, he always looks to run it in himself rather than looking for open targets to throw to. He's produced so far on the ground, but that won't happen against bigger, faster teams and if he tries that against FSU or Clemson, Wilson will get the snaps several other posters are clamoring for right now. That INT was flat out ridiculous -- not getting the right play from the sideline, throwing it blindly to a LBer, not tackling him or knocking him out of bounds after the INT.

RB -- PTG and AAM did well, the others did not but were brought in cold and put in bad situations.

WR -- The drops, oh the drops. Left a lot of points on the turf. The lack of effective blocking. I was surprised by how often they got open, though. Good job at that against a very poor Maryland secondary, but I'll still give them credit.

DLine -- I said they needed to contain CJ Brown and stop his gashing runs and they basically did that. They held the Maryland weak running game in check generally.

Secondary -- Leak taking a 2 yard pass for 90 yards untouched is ridiculous. Maryland simply blocked well for him and our defenders couldn't shed the blocks. Diggs was held in check. Veii tore us up. The INT that turned into a big yardage reception left me sick to my stomach and told the story of the game.

Sloppy, sloppy sloppy. Almost 100 yards in penalties, particularly at bad times when we were threatening to score, was sloppy. Not getting a hand on Leak on his 90 yard screen was sloppy. Hunt's pick 6 to Likely -- not even getting the play call correct, let alone the stupid blind throw -- was sloppy. Getting that stupid rugby punt blocked and not putting a hand on multiple defenders was sloppy.

You take 3 sloppy plays away -- 88 yard pick 6, 90 yard untouched screen for Leak, blocked punt -- and this could have been an SU win. Gotta get better.

The drops just screamed at me. Maybe TH ran it so much because he was getting frustrated at ALL THOSE FRIGGIN' DROPS!

My opinion, and I'm stickin' with it.

The angle richie desir took on the screen to leak was terrible.

It makes me wonder if the problem is that we don't have anyone as fast as MD's skill guys, so our secondary isn't accustomed to practicing against that speed. Thus the bad angle.

SU's secondary is just being exposed...again. By far, the weakest unit on the field.

Far more wildly missed passes than dropped.

Passes get missed, Peyton Manning doesn't have a 100% completion percentage.

Here is what we do know, we know that he is capable of making every throw he was asked to. I think he was rushing things, I think that all the running might have been messing with his mechanics, either fatigue or adrenaline.

Again, he was being asked to make more up-field, and lower percentage, throws than in the prior two games, or most games he has played.

And the fact is that on throws that he did make well there were some drops. He didn't miss on those. Two of those drops end up completions and he gets some near misses on target he is 18 of 28, 64% and in the 250-280 range.

The kid is never going to be a precision pocket passer. Slight improvement in accuracy and adding some more play action and this offense could be pretty good.

Hunt has depth and talent at TB, TE, and WR that Nassib never had. Loved Alec, but he was one guy, and rarely 100%. Sales is another guy on this roster, West now is better than West then. Parris, Custis, and Moore are a better unit than Wales and Stevens. Hunt doesn't need to be great, he doesn't need to be a top 20 quarterback, for this team to be good. What he does need is help from his OC.

sorry no one can catch a pass, particularly one for 10yds at 150mph

sorry but imo when we couldn't cut into the lead going into the 4th qtr this game was over. and all those empty silver seats back up my premise.

The angle richie desir took on the screen to leak was terrible.

After watching the replay it looked like a blown coverage. Davis blitzed, and there were 2 defenders for 3 receivers. Eskridge was too far over to the other side for some reason.

I counted at least 4 times where Brown made a quick throw to the side where we blitzed from that went for a huge gain. Live by the blitz die by the blitz.
