When Jake was AD, I sent him a few emails and I always got a personal, well thought-out reply. Once I was in Tucson for a meeting at a resort and was waiting in the lobby about to go out for a run while wearing a Syracuse shirt. I heard a voice say "where did you get that shirt?" I turned, and it was Jake with a big smile on his face. He was attending a conference with a bunch of other AD's and we had a great chat.

AD Wildhack has responded to the couple of emails I sent him (and no, they BOTH weren't about the subject of #44. One of them may have been. There is really no way to know...). I'm sure he gets bombarded constantly, so his response was much-appreciated.

Anyway, I was in South Bend for an SU-ND game and was standing in a quiet area with a few other SU fans. They may or may not have been members of this board, I honestly don't recall. Probably though. Nobody else within a good 50 feet, and certainly nobody that was not wearing blue and gold. Gross strolls by, not appearing to be in a hurry, and we called over to him. He glances over, gives us a quick wave, and keeps slowly walking. Perhaps I am expecting too much for the AD to stop for a few seconds and say hi to a small group of fans who have travelled to see the team (a day trip for me, but the others not so much).

Just a different approach perhaps, but as an alumnus and fan I always appreciated the other AD's taking the time to make the personal contact.
