Just landed some big-time recruits. Great job by this staff sealing the deal down the stretch. Especially Shafer, McDonald, Timmy Daoust and Eric White. The in-homes were clutch and the atmosphere yesterday was insane.

Cannot say enough about Eric White though. That kid is a game-changer. Recruiting guru.

The 2014 class is the best class this program has had on paper in 15 years. Pumped to see how these kids develop. Some will play next year.

George McDonald ‏@CoachGMcDonald 44m
Take the ones you want! Let the others take the rest! #Good2Great2014

Exactly, but other coaches have recruited well on this staff, along with those you sited.

No kidding! And we saw how good of recruiters our coaching staff can be in January--they had two big weekends, and they killed both.

Also, props to the hoops team for putting on such an exciting game for the recruits to get excited about, and the fans for both turning out and making it raucous as hell.

No question it was a group effort. We would've never had a chance with a lot of those kids though without McDonald and White. McDonald's SoFL connections and White's diligent research.

Speaking of S. Florida. I recently learned that a certain S.Florida high school HC (with SU connections) is very happy with the new staff and will openly promote SU to his players.

Now on to the home stretch and have to get these commits on the dotted line on Wednesday. This is when the promises from opposing coaches start to flourish and hopefully all of the SU commits know the lines of bullspit that are about to hit them are just that, saying what they want to hear. Relationships are huge here on I think the SU has done a nice job with those but again, those last minute pushes by desperate coaches are always the final battle. Keep em Cuse men!

Notice how in the last few weeks, everyone was on the road together, you had 2 or 3 guys including Scott visiting a player. I think that helps sell Scott's family with these recruits, and their families. To be on the road like that together shows how much this staff likes each other. This groups stays together for a few years, and they will be very tough to recruit against.

Any chance his dad coached here twice and his brother was once a GA? ;)

No question. These in-homes were dynamite over the last few weeks. Then they get the kids on campus during an OV and Dino ends up being clutch. 35k and a nuts campus post-game helps, too.

They have a very good system in place when it comes to recruiting and having them sit with the students as blacknight pointed out is another reason why these guys just get how to recruit.

give some props to the ACC as well - scheduling a Saturday home game against Duke on the final weekend before signing day. The POS Big East would've sent SU out to Marquette or So. Fl. on Saturday.

I was just having similar thoughts. Since the game was, by far, the most entertaining event of the weekend, I wonder if the ACC might consider scheduling this game every Saturday of Super Bowl weekend? Great exposure for both teams and the conference.
