Betsey good on offence, needs significant improvement on Defense. His footwork was not good especially when switching.

Aussie Luke is a liability on defense unless he is able to have his man drive into a double team in the paint.  Every time in the 2nd half he was beaten off the dribble to give up a shot in the paint  Multiple times he made poor choices in his passing that let to turnovers.

JJ had a howler of a game.   No impact and I fear we will see a JJ like he was with a certain guard 2 years ago.  Innefective.   He needs to make the open 3.  He missed many.

William Kyle was effective.  He did not receive weak side help in defending.  It was nice to see a center dunk when receiving a pass.  FT form is very strange.   Hopefully he can shoot close to 60%.

Defense and limiting turnovers is going to be key for this team.  I think Autry's system gives us a chance of scoring a lot of points (whether we are efficient or not).   Limiting turnovers will result in higher number of scoring opportunities for us.  We had 17 turnovers and won by 10.   Change that to 7 turnovers and we score on 50% of our opportunities we, win by 20+.

Also, our lack of easy transition baskets (could be due to the high amount of substitutions) is troubling.  We need those as well as better finishing at the rim.   Nate and JJ were big offenders.

We give up a lot of 3s last few seasons.  If we are up, we need to play a different defense to limit damage done by long shooters.  This has been a problem for JB last 10 years and it appears that Autry is not picking up on that in changing up his defense to account for better shooting from long range.  Give up the midrange, grab the rebound.  Most 3 point shooters are unable to put it on the floor and hit the midrange. (however, saw Betsey do it 2x in the game.  Very promising).

Overall, not impressive but with only 2 returning players from last year, this team will need to jell to be effective.  I hope they quickly do that.
