Eyes will be on the quarterbacks when Syracuse University visits Rochester on Saturday

I've figured out why Marrone has closed practices-he wants to give OE time to recover from his carpal tunnel and not have to link so many articles.

Hey, look - an article about the SU football team in April! Who said Marrone needs to open the program up to the media and fans?

Im just sick that I live in Rochester and I wont be able to make this practice. I have to take my son down to North Carolina this weekend. But I will be at the spring game.

Looking forward to it. I missed the game last year and was sorry I didn't go. Hopefully with a little better weather, Rochester fans and potential recruits will be there.

So little football to cover in recent weeks, yet Nolan still hasn't learned how to write.

It's unbelievable that someone with such poor skills has a job as a professional writer. Why can't they give more of the workload to Rahme?

What's so bad about it? It's not spectacular, but it gets the job done.

Among other things, he began the article with "Its ironic." Heck, 75% of the people on this informal board don't make that error.

He's got stuff like that all the time. Tons of basic sentence-level problems that an eighth-grader could spot: syntax errors, subject-verb agreement trouble. Outside of those simple technical problems, he editorializes, makes a lot of logical fallacies, and generally shows a really poor grasp of the language.

Obviously, his editors don't think so.

Sorry. I'm not trying to jump down your throat. I just get defensive of journalists. It became second nature when news anchors were reading my crappy writing every morning from 5am to 11am on YNN.

It's ok. In this era of no copy-editors and rolling internet deadlines, I'm sympathetic to journalists.

As an avid reader of the English language and someone who's kind of a stickler for people doing the best they can at what they do, though, I don't have any patience for professional writers who make the mistakes that Nolan does. It's really bad.

Where's the dislike button when you need it?
