So he is a poor mans Tyson Chandler?
You could pick Rak because he would theoritially cost less. Fab is already in the NBA, his stock would reflect that. You would be paying for a marginal player in the NBA. For Rak you would be buying a very cheap speculative stock. How could anyone possibly pick Rakeem here?! I'm asking that seriously---I can't think of a single logical reason to pick him.

So for Fab you would lose money if he got bounced from the NBA. For Rak you would make money if he was able to get a spot in some foreign league.
I would invest in Rak. I think the odds are in favor of Rak turning it around and finding a place overseas over Fab sticking with the NBA.
Oh, ok. good point. I wasn't thinking about it in those terms...
Like Tyson Chandler when he has to guard Roy Hibbert?Like an extremely poor man's Chandler? Like a bankrupt Detroit version of Tyson

Part of me isn't positive he will still be on the team come the season opener. Tyson and Shump are our only tradeable assets. I'd send Tyson and Shump for Lamarcus Aldridge in a second. Regardless, I think ppl are sleeping on the Knicks. I love the additions of Bargs and Metta while resigning JR, Pablo and KMart. If Woodson stops coaching like a jacka$$ we have unbelievable flexibility. Big lineups, small lineups, scoring lineups and defensive lineups.Ugh, why would you remind me of that?
I love Tyson, so I have to defend him, he was definitely really banged up in the playoffs. At least that is what I'm telling myself, because that was not the same guy we saw in 2012 and before he got hurt in 2013.
Agreed. I should clarify the Bargs signing as "given the circumstances". They turned some garbage and a late 1st rounder (Denver has the right to swap picks) for a guy who will score 15-20 a game and can go off for 30 any given night. 1-10 we're looking pretty solid. The question is will (Bargs, JR, Amare) give us a second option to Melo? Deep bench, good defense bla bla bla. If in crunch time noone besides Melo can score, we can't beat elite teams.I don't love the team this year; I think they will fight with the Nets for the division, but I would have to put them behind Miami, Chicago, and probably Indy as well. I'm not exactly sure what they could have done differently though. I didn't love getting Bargnani cause they gave away another first rounder, but that was in part because they signed Novak for 4 years for no apparent reason. Artest for the minimum, or just about, was very good.
I think really what they need is Tyson to be Tyson before he was hurt, and Shump to take another step up.
