I know this is not exactly an indoor FB complex, but I received a message awhile ago about the university here approving new "athletic facilities" at the tune of 56 million dollars. The school has being building, building, and building over the last century to try and consolidate and expand the university in different athletic and academic facets. There have also been major improvements to facilities for most of the men's and women's sports. It has to be noted that there is a comparison being made between a state and private university, yet I would think that SU would have greater opportunities in providing such facilities. It has been frequently mentioned that many of the projects are approved due to being a "financial stimulus" to the area. Regardless of the classification as private/public, I would assume that there would be some sort of benefit offered to SU due to the ability of such projects to "create jobs". Perhaps things are underway. I know that IB reported the upgrades to the training areas, offices, etc... I just wanted to post and offer a glimpse of what is going on "down the road" and the hope that bigger and better opportunties are in the works of my dream school and possibly one day Alma Mater. The second link is interesting if you are interested in the process of such facilities.

apples and oranges. And being around it everyday the two sectors aren't really even worth comparing or trying to draw conclusions from. Night and day from idea to conception, to use and project delivery as well as financing. How do I know? I work with both the endowed side from Cornell as well as the State aided AG school, you would not believe the difference between the processes. SUNY Cortland versus Syracuse is kind of the same comparison. It's night and day

Now, if the private entity that has a generous donor base you can work with then it's a win win. For example, the Statler School of Hotel Restaurant Management. Always something being built or rebuilt over there. It is unbelievable..
