Probably the first time in his career that I've said this, but he's driving me nuts tonight. He's really forcing it. Pass the ball! New role for him, I guess. He's gotta make some adjustments.

I think part of it is he feels he has to be a force for us to win, and that is doubly felt on a night like tonight where Grant is not in the lineup.

But yeah he has too many TOs and really looks flustered for the first time in a very long time

Maybe. But the team is looking for him. Give it up and get it back in better position! He's tried forcing something out of nothing a lot tonight.

CJ has never been much of a passer. If you pass it to cj you probably ain't getting it back.

Pulling a Joseph and trying to go Kobe. I honestly think CJ just needs to be more of a vocal leader this year. If he plays his normal style of game with a few extra threes then we will be fine. We SHOULD have more scoring options this year where CJ won't be needed for too much 1-on-1 stuff.

I don't mind the one on one, when he's in a good position. He can usually create a good shot for himself there. It was the one on twos and one on ones with help defense just waiting to cut him off that drove me nuts tonight. He's gotta recognize it quicker and make the pass, if he's going to draw that much defensive attention.

Oh no doubt. I meant more when he committed the charges. He's not a 2G with a handle to pull that stuff off.

CJ should have been sat down early in the game because his turnovers were one of the reasons we were behind. He wasn't just bad, he was awful. All we did early was chuck up jump shots. The ball has to go inside. Rak can score in the post if he gets some touches. CJ should also get the ball inside and not try to put on a dribbling show. I thought Silent G played pretty well tonight. He finally got some minutes at the two, which is where he should play. It was a solid effort in the second half. Cooney was great and you had to feel good for the kid.

7 turnovers was vhalf of our tunovers and he only had 3 rebounds, not good.

But, no Jerami Grant our second expected high scorer, 19 points on 6-11 shooting and 6-7 from the line with 3 assists on a off night, not all that bad. He just was alittle off tonight thats all. Getting back into the flow. Any CJ talk tonight is just extra chatter.

Grant and CJ are going to go to the basket its their game. I give CJ credit for learning to understand double teams this year.

his first 3 seasons Fair had the luxury of picking and choosing his spots, therefore was very efficient. This year he is going to be needed to make something happen so we are more likely to see some more turnovers. It's going to be something we will have to get used to, but it will be needed.

I can deal with "some" turnovers...as in 2 or 3. 7? Against Cornell? He's gotta be better.

He was trying to do too much, and I don't think he needs to do that. It's not his game. He can continue to pick his spots, and just pop a little more, and he'll get 15-20 in most games. We don't need him to be super man. I refuse to believe our McDonalds AA big guys can't make 3-4-5 shots each in the paint especially against Cornell if they get the ball. Christmas got it going in the second half once he got the ball.

With Ennis struggling and no Grant, Fair's struggles aren't a huge concern. But he's gotta make some adjustments.

His 7 turnovers really were pretty bad. SU might have lost to a better opponent (Cooney might have been shut down more).

It's funny how a star will be forgiven far more for a bad performance by fans and coaches. That's probably an unavoidable fact of life, though. GMAC clanked more bad treys early in the clock than the rest of the team combined some years. But when it counted...

C.J. is like alcohol. The cause of, and answer to, all of life's problems (H.S., 1995 or so).

Theres two kinds of learning though. There is one where you change your overall game plan to stop doing things like Gbinije did last night. Then there is the kind where you keep doing it to get better at it. I think in this case and for the better of the team CJ is the later. He needs to keep pushing it to learn where his teamates are going to be before he drives, and cut down on the offensive sholder charge and geting stripped one on one. That will come with time this year and make us a better team. CJ is one of our isolation players hes got to create, just like ennis and hopefully Grant evolves into one in the high post this year.

On the other hand we all remember Warrick having 10 turnoves against vermont, can't afford to turn it over so much in big games.

I'll go out on a limb and predict he won't average 7 turnovers per game this season.
