I fully expected this to be a Covid issue, not an eligibility issue. When was the last time a team had to forfeit because of eligibility issues?

How can they already be ineligible? Is this a result of Spring session grading?

Yeah, I started to get sick to my stomach.

Glad to see it's just good ol' fashioned eligibility issues.

How strange. I have always thought that for football, the smartest unit was almost always the OL. Maybe FAMU recruits OL in a different way that Syracuse.

If FAMU did not play, I assume they would forfeit a sizable fee UNC paid them to play. Guessing the team was told without that money, the budget for football was going to be severely impacted. They surely had to play to run the program all season long.

Would be quite the story and full of irony if they beat the Heels...

It would be Mack Brown typical. Remember when they were ranked Pre-Season Top 10 last year then s..hit the bed?

That too. I was more thinking along the lines of all those fake passing grades UNC loved so much...

I heard on ESPNU radio that they are getting $450K for this game but would have owed NC $450K if they bailed. A $900K swing for this program? I think they would have called me to play OLine if need be

They should have used the UNC academic eligibility model.
They do. 100% of the UNC issues were with 1 department: African and African American Studies. That 'discipline' is huge at FAMU.

So what difference does the dept or the course of study make, that has nothing to do with the problem in reality, I’m wondering what your getting at here, I don’t think it’s right.
