Quick , fast paced scrimmage. Will post more when I get home, but the 1 main question is where was Brisly Estime? Didn't play, nor did I see him on the sidelines.

He tweeted that "Hunt was Ballin" or something like that, so he was there somewhere or watching the twitter feed...

Good to know Estime's injury isnt too serious. Sean Avant filled in and had a bunch of catches, most of them on the bubble screen, which was basically a carbon copy of the Spring Game. Here are a couple random observations: -As expected really bland play calling; a lot of bubble screens and a couple plays off them. -West caught a bomb from Hunt or the biggest play of the practice. I believe Jaston George was the culprit. -Hunt was solid. Completed a very high percentage, but most of the throws were high percentage throws. He had another long throw to Broyld that should have been a td, that needed more zip. Looked like he missed Moore deep down the middle and threw into double coverage once. Overall had good control of the offense. -Offensive line was solid all around. There was maybe 1 sack the whole practice. Good protection, and opened up a few long runs. -Avant was very impressive. Runs very tight routes with a good burst. Seemed to play a ton Cooper may also have been hurt I didn't see him playing. -Ishmael had 3 or 4 catches. 1 really long one. Kid will be a stud. -Parris had a few nice plays over the middle, and looks to be in better shape, or at least more cut up. -AJ Long got the majority of the other snaps. Seemed to get as many as Hunt for the 2nd team. You can tell he has some jets, but is really really small. In limited snaps I thought both Wilson and Kimble looked better. Wilson easily has the best arm of the group, but worst feet. -scissum stood out on defense making a couple nice plays on the ball. Jonathan Thomas made a couple nice TFL's later in the scrimmage. -FG kickers were 6-6 in FG tries. Norton looked good, so did Hodgeskin, but his kicks don't get too far off the ground. Overall there really wasn't much to see, which was to be expected. Really need to make sure Brisly is 100%. That's all I can remember for now. If anything specific you were looking for give it a shot, and I'll see what I can remember.

Edit: Wanted to add that there was a great crowd there today. Best crowd I've seen there. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

Crowd was outstanding and arrived in great droves by 3:30

Since it's impossible to compare people in a large indoor Dome vs an outdoor small soccer field, did the crowd "feel" larger than the ones in the Dome?

It was far more then any of the past Spring Games. I'm terrible at estimations, but I would say close to 6k.

Yea, I meant to say compared to the spring games in the Dome.

Glad they finally moved it to a Saturday! I'm sure that helped with attendance. Thanks for the breakdown.

A few quick thoughts.
The gap between Hunt and the other QBs is huge.
This is the most talented group of receivers in years. I don't know if there is one player as talented as say Alec or Mike Williams, but the whole group is the most talented.
Josh Paris looks like a new player.
The first team offensive line looks great. I hope nothing happens to Miller because Emerick can't snap.
Ben Lewis has very nice parents. The sat in front of my son and I today. They surprised Ben in being there today.
I stink at trying to watch the offense and defense at the same time.

Props to the town today, heard the crowd was very good! Can't wait to drive down for the nova game.

Watch out for Ishmael doods!

And where was Edouard? Or did I miss something on previous posts?

Freshmen looked really good--and some of those fresh D linemen were humongous!

For what it's worth, the soccer stadium venue was outstanding! Please, please use it in the future!

I liked the "VIP" section for season ticket holders -- but in fact, anybody could have sat there. At least an effort was being made to accommodate the few, the proud, the loud. Kind of disgusting to see fans wearing 5 or 6 or more lanyard give-always around their necks--1 or 2, OK, but come on! From the size of most of them, gluttony is away of life for them. The poster give-aways look so-so online but were really impressive up close-- and I only took 2. Also--got the new guidon emblem sticker placed on the car already-pretty slick:

Free popcorn, cotton candy, soda, ice cream, bottled water--pluS all the kid-friendly activities made for a real carnival-liKe atmosphere. It really did feel like a Fan Fest. Best one I can remember! An the weather was perfect! What more can you ask for?

I talked to a security guard there and he said the stands hold around 1500 max and together we estimated that in the stands during the scrimmage was about 1000-1200 and there were more fans on the ground as well as at the bounce house fan zone. I would say around 2K total would be pretty accurate.

More than any practice, scrimmage, Fan Fest or Spring Game that I can remember.

Eduoard hasn't been around yet. He's in Florida dealing with a personal matter.

I did not see Nick Robinson either, anyone know where he was.

Sounds like it was a blast but I've always been partial towards the fanfests back in the day. The scrimmage was outside then the fans came into Manley and enjoyed a picnic buffet. Then with Doug Logan as emcee the HC would give a little speech then each position coach would get up and introduce "his" players one by one and talk about each. There were also raffles and auctions.

They asked all the season ticket holders how many tickets they had. If you had 4 tickets, you got 4 lanyards.

Agreed. And the silent auction. Grobs first year was $50 a plate. That's hilarious in hindsight.
