Just received an e-mail from SU asking for responses to a fan survey on fan experience related to SU football.
Hope everyone who gets this takes the time to respond.
I haven't even looked at it yet because I'm heading out for a few hours. Sure hope they are asking the right questions.

nice. they're using Turnkey who does a pretty good job for a number of teams (pro and college) re: customer experience, segmenting the base, driving sales, etc.

I think the questions were so generic that the heart of the problem gets ignored.. at least they tried.

Just did it. Pretty high level but at least they're trying.

I was screened out since I didn't actually purchase tickets from them this year. Remember that they've got the questions but also all of your customer data to look at alongside, so purchase history, donation history, geography, potentially income, family structure, home ownership, etc. Then they can model out some stuff. There's a lot of talk on here about "rightsizing" ticket prices/plans, folding in customer experience angles, etc and this is a way to get at it. Who knows what their specific engagement entails so I don't mean to overstate it, but that's the sort of stuff on the table.

I know the A's have used Turnkey to great success (mutual success between org and fans), among some others.

I guess I missed the question about having less canned music and more out of town scores.

I did it. Was unimpressed with the nature of the questions and the great redundancy in the questions they asked. Kept wishing I could elaborate or explain the answers I was choosing.

They desperately need some help from professionals in running the department.

I filled it out.

You can tell when a survey is not done well when you keep wanting to elaborate on things but have no option or ability to do so.

I think it is great they tried to do a survey. It is a shame the questions were so redundant and so lacking in the areas that desperately need to be addressed. Someone needs to take some time, visit this board and gain some insight into what the SU football fanbase is thinking, because right now, they are on another planet from where the fanbase is.

It was so badly done that they are going to get almost nothing out of this. Another wasted opportunity.

I didn't get one. Doesn't bother me--nobody listens to me anyway. :D

its clear that the people asking the questions have never actually been to a sporting event to see what goes on understand what people might have an interest in seeing done.. the fact that the school has had replay boards for 10 years and still doesn't do anything of value with them is just amazing.. why dont they go to other stadiums and watch.. why dont they ask people at the games. as Tomcat said why dont they just ask this board for help..

Do a survey with the fans who DON'T already have season tickets. The responses from them are the ones you want as to why they aren't purchasing them. Not the people who already are buying season tix. I didn't see it but the whole thing sounds silly and like a waste of time

Did you find this review helpful / unhelpful?

Here was my answer to the (almost) last question about what I would improve (felt good venting):

IMPROVE HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS! Grew up in Syracuse and went to games with my Dad since the Floyd Little era. I have an SU degree. I live in Syracuse. I love Syracuse University and its football team, but I don't always feel like they love me. I could buy seats to every game for well below what I pay for my three season tickets on the secondary market. I don't and I won't, but the University could do a lot more to make their loyal customers truly feel appreciated. Instead, all I hear is crickets. I'm too old to leave you, but I can't promise my sons will keep the tickets if you can't do a better job keeping the customers happy.

That's a good point but I'm happy they are making this gesture towards season ticket holders. I'm glad they want the opinions of the fans who do support the team by getting their opinions. It's important that they retain their current fan base to prioritize what issues effecting their game experience. People who don't or haven't attended certainly wouldn't know what the current game experience is like. From this survey they should be able to then target the alumni who aren't season ticket holders and then augment it with locals who currently don't attend. I do wish the questions were more open ended and allowed us to offer suggestions.

No survey here. Between the MetLife game, season tickets and parking I've dropped over $1k on SU Football with them. Don't ask me what I think about the product/experience...

Damn, they don't have a clue.
