We all know The Good Doctor was damn near perfect in his approach. That is not up for debate.

What would you have done differently had you been hired as Jakes replacement?

What would you have done differently had you been hired as Daryl's replacement?

What...

Gross was terrible, only overshadowed by his idiotic chancellor.
Well that’s what happens when you hire based on the profile of the candidate and not based on the capabilities of the candidate.

Would’ve convinced a HS coach in Connecticut by the name of Chip Kelly that he had what it takes to win at this level and hired him. Would’ve invested in his offensive philosophy and sold him on installing that offense in a weather controlled Carrier Dome. Would’ve embraced his ideas around nutrition and player preparation/development and looked at those ideas as an equalizer to the schools who get significant 4-5 star talent.

It’s so obvious, isn’t it? Taking the offensive coordinator of New Hampshire (he was not coaching HS in CT) over a DC who just beat USC.

Ahh thanks for the correction. I have actually thought about this scenario before. Obviously Coach P never would’ve gone for it, but if I was AD, I would’ve forced a change out at OC and inserted Chip Kelly. His offense + same defense + NJ recruiting connections would’ve been interesting. Obviously would’ve been transitional for 2-3 years then would need to somehow elevate Chip.

John Harbaugh wanted the SYR job. He's said publicly that his agent tried to get him an interview but it was late in the process and Gross told Harbaugh's agent he was zeroing in another candidate, presumably Robinson. We missed an opportunity on that one. Harbaugh would have used us as a stepping stone to the NFL but I'll bet we would have been good in a Harbaugh regime.

Yeah gross was an idiot. Arrogant little . I fixed his carpet in his office and he acted like an then and he was brand new. He screwed us on the Marrone deal by doing nothing on the renovations he promised Doug.

No doubt
