Here are the actual high temperatures in Syracuse for each day in February 2019 compared to the average high, (based on stats that go back to 1901) and the difference that day, + or – as well as a running deficit or surfeit. Here is the website I used for these numbers: Syracuse February Weather 2019 - AccuWeather Forecast for NY 13202 The numbers are the date, the actual high, the historical average high, the net difference, the cumulative net since January 1st, the numbers of days we exceeded the historical average, the number of days we didn't reach it and the number of days we tied it. February: 02/01 16 – 32 = -16 = -65 12-19-1 02/02 33 – 32 = +1 = -64 13-19-1 02/03 49 – 32 = +17 = -47 14-19-1 02/04 61 – 32 = +29 = -18 15-19-1 02/05 52 – 32 = +20 = +2 16-19-1 02/06 34 – 33 = +1 = +3 17-19-1 02/07 48 – 32 = +16 = +19 18-19-1 02/08 56 – 33 = +23 = +42 19-19-1 02/09 26 – 33 = -7 = +35 19-20-1 02/10 29 – 33 = -4 = +31 19-21-1 02/11 31 – 33 = -2 = +29 19-22-1 02/12 26 – 34 = -8 = +21 19-23-1 02/13 31 – 34 = -3 = +18 19-24-1 02/14 39 – 34 = +5 = +23 20-24-1 02/15 49 – 34 = +15 = +38 21-24-1 02/16 28 – 34 = -6 = +32 21-25-1 02/17 28 – 34 = -6 = +26 21-26-1 02/18 24 – 35 = -11 = +15 21-27-1 02/19 22 – 35 = -13 = +2 21-28-1 02/20 35 – 35 = 0 = +2 21-28-2 02/21 39 – 35 = +4 = +6 22-28-2 02/22 34 - 36 = -2 = +4 22-29-2 02/23 37 – 36 = +1 = +5 23-29-2 02/24 51 – 36 = +15 = +20 24-29-2 02/25 32 – 36 = -4 = +16 24-30-2 02/26 20 – 37 = -17 = -1 24-31-2 02/27 13 – 37 = -24 = -25 24-32-2 02/28 22 – 37 = -15 = -40 24-33-2 Comments: The moth got off to a great start with 7 straight plus days totaling 107 degrees. But we started to slide badly towards the end and are still in a bad slump that, by Saturday, will have given us 10 minus days in 11, totaling -162. But according to AccuWeather, that will be it for the winter that has had us in its grip since just after Halloween. The farther a forecast looks into the future the more Lunardiesque it sets but this site says that we will be in the 40’s for all but three days the rest of the month. It’s won’t be balmy but it will be spring.
