He out-coached Cal, period. His team played better and deserved to win. The fact that he has yet to make a final 4 and you mix in that he just lost his mom which is tough anytime but in the middle of the tourney? He hasn't had time to mourn. I wanted it for him very badly because they will be down next year and I think he is one of the classiest coaches out there. Damn Kentucky.

When your team plays better and still loses I think that says a lot about the talent on the other side. UK is just a great team.

UK is a great team, but not a dominate team.

The last 2 minutes weren't particularly well coached from the ND sideline, if you ask me. Obviously, some of it might be players trying to play hero ball (*cough*JerianGrant*cough*) or not, but it was a pretty poor last 120 seconds.

Tough draw for ND...the way they were playing I think they'd be in the Final Four if they played anyone else but UK.

Brey sucks. Sorry about his mother, but I feel nothing for him as a coach. There's a reason this is the first time he's been this far, and if Dunham had any idea what a shot fake was, it would have been moot.

I feel like he let's his players play, he doesn't try to over coach. During the whole game they ran almost no sets and the players were playing heady and making plays. I think it's just his style to let his players dictate the game, I don't think he is a very technical coach at all.

Sounds familiar.

He does fairly well for the players that he has usually. Look at the teams he has had to work with, besides Grant who would be considered a top player that he has had? I personally think he is under valued as a coach. He always has competitive teams with a bunch of mid level players.

He gets mostly 3 and 4 star kids, but they stick around. When kids stay for 4 years, you expect a run every now and then. This was the first.

The thing is if they played in any other major conference they'd be just another elite team.the hyperbole wouldn't be there because they'd have taken a couple loses.

This is why Brey isn't a very good coach IMO. His "lets his team play" in the final minutes and often they look out of control and undisciplined. grant did the same thing in our game, just tried to takeover and it didn't work. The fact that he didn't have a timeout to set something up with 6 seconds left hurt the,. Grant took the ball from baseline to baseline and never even looked for an open man, of which there were a few.

The SEC is not as bad as some will say (there's a bunch of decent teams in the middle), but there is at most two great teams. One of them had a terrible year. UK never had to play a top 10 (maybe even top 20?) team in conference, just a bunch of 20-60 ish teams. Should have lost a few.

It's kind of like the FSU going undefeated in the ACC argument. You never know if they would lose a game in another conference. They played the games on their schedule and won them all. How can you do better than that?

Given the outcome of the football playoffs the criticisms of FSU seem warranted.

I figured the 39 point win against WVU would be considered dominate. Tough crowd.

They are certainly dominant within the current landscape of college hoops.

Historically, I believe I've seen several Kentucky teams alone that were better.

I think 96 Kentucky would roll this and the 2012 team tbh.

No question about it, in my mind. Their 1997 team that lost in the finals to Arizona was loaded too.

Their Jamal Mashburn era teams were really good too. They came up just short to Duke '92 on a buzzer beater, and then the Fab Five the next season - two incredible teams. They weren't as deep as this current group, but Mashburn was a much better player than anyone on their current team is right now. Again, different eras. Nowadays you would get Mashburn for a year and he would be gone, and you'd never get to see his excellent soph/Junior seasons.

How did he out coach Cal?
