Here is how the schedule shakes up: - Nine games against 2014 NCAA Tournament participants - Nine games against team that appeared in the top 20 of the final NCAA Field Hockey RPI Rankings of 2014 - Eight games against teams that appeared in the top 20 of the final NFHCA Coaches Poll of 2014 - Four games against teams that earned automatic bids to the 2014 NCAA Tournament - Three games against teams that advanced to the 2014 NCAA Tournament quarterfinals The Orange opens its season with a three-game roadtrip in California. Syracuse will open the year at 2014 national quarterfinalist Stanford on Aug. 28. The team will also play UC Davis (Aug. 29) and Pacific (Aug. 31) on its West Coast swing. After playing Bucknell (Sept. 4) on the road, Syracuse will host Massachusetts in its home opener on Sept. 6. The game is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium. As always, admission to all Syracuse field hockey regular season contests is free of charge. The next weekend, the Orange will open Atlantic Coast Conference play against 2014 national semifinalist North Carolina on Sept. 12 at home. Following a New England roadtrip against Boston College (Sept. 27) and Yale (Sept. 25), Syracuse will host four straight home games at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The Orange will face 2014 ACC regular season champion Virginia (Sept. 25), 2014 NCAA Tournament participants Boston University (Sept. 27) and Monmouth (Oct. 2), and Cornell (Oct. 4). The squad will travel to Louisville (Oct. 9) and Indiana (Oct. 11) before hosting its final two regular season home contests. Syracuse will play 2014 ACC Tournament champion Wake Forest at home on Oct. 17. The very next day, the Orange will close its regular season home schedule against 2014 Ivy League champion Princeton. Syracuse will close its regular season at 2014 national quarterfinalist Duke on Oct. 24. The 2015 ACC Championship will be held on the campus of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. The conference tournament will run from Nov. 5-8. The first and second rounds of the 2015 NCAA Tournament will be played on campus sites from Nov. 14-15.
