SYRACUSE, N.Y. - After opening the season by winning four games in five days, the field hockey team returns to Syracuse for its home opening weekend against a pair of undefeated teams.

Orange 4-0
• Syracuse starts 4-0 for the season after a four game road trip in Ohio.
• This is the third straight year Syracuse has started the season 4-0.
• The Orange earned wins over Ohio State, Miami (OH), Ohio and Kent State on the road trip.
Russell Leads the Way
• Junior Emma Russell leads the Orange with 11 points and five goals this season.
• The Enniskerry, Ireland native also has a pair of game-winning goals, including the overtime winner at Ohio State.
Series Histories
• Syracuse is 11-1 all-time against Albany. The last meeting was a 1-0 victory in 2011.
• Syracuse is 3-8-1 all-time against Ball State. The last meeting was in 2000, when the Orange fell 1-0 to the Cardinals

• The Orange is ranked No. 5 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Poll for the second-straight season.

• Ball State is 2-0 with wins against Davidson and Appalachian State, with the Cardinals scoring four goals in each game.
