[B]SYRACUSE, N.Y. – [/B]The Syracuse University field hockey team was ranked No. 7 nationally in the most recent Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the NFHCA announced on Tuesday. This marks the highest Syracuse has been ranked in 2014 since the third release of the coaches' poll on Sept. 16, when it was No. 4 in the country.
 
Syracuse is coming off a dominating weekend, when it defeated then-No. 6 Duke and Bucknell in its final two regular season home games. The Orange has not allowed a goal in more 140 minutes of play and has not yielded a penalty corner in its past two contests.
 
The squad also saw a rise in the latest NCAA RPI Rankings. Syracuse was ranked No. 6 in the latest rankings, its highest position this year in the poll. Amongst ACC programs, Syracuse only trailed top-ranked North Carolina in the RPI Rankings.
 
Syracuse will complete its regular season on Saturday afternoon on the road at Massachusetts. Its regular season finale is slated to begin at 1 p.m. in Amherst, Mass.
