Notre Dame ranks second in the P5 in rushing defense and hasn’t allowed a 100 yard rusher all year. Syracuse ranks last in the P5 in rushing offense and has TWO 100 yard rushers against Notre Dame.

Expanding on this, they actually hadn’t allowed a 100 yd rusher in their last 15 games prior to tonight. Their 16 straight wins is the longest active streak in FBS.

Yup. On the pregame ACC football talk on ACCN, the expert panel was asked over or under regarding Syracuse rushing yards against ND. The number they gave was 50. All the experts said Syracuse would end up with under 50 rushing yards.

Village Idiot Eric MacLain said he thought there was a good chance Syracuse would end up with negative rushing yards. That guy hasn’t made a single insightful comment on ACC football all season. What a moron.

Neither Notre Dame or Clemson brought anywhere near their A-game intensity against the Orange. Sorry to state an apparent fact.

Ok. And what’s your point? This isn’t like a Tuesday night 9pm preseason game. They only play once a week and had been prepping all week for this.

Last week at home 25 rushes for 3 yards.

This week at ND 35 rushes for 229 yards.

I guess we just needed to run the ball 10 more times last week.

Someone asked in the game thread when was the last time SU had two 100 yard rushers in the same game, and it was actually in the game last year vs Duke.

I think we'll see the inside zone running game return next year with the O-line getting healthy and slotted correctly, and talent at RB in Tucker, Hough, Jordan, Lutz.
