Final CFP Rankings for Dec 7

Nah it is because Duke beat UVA they will spin it that way but the real reason is because Duke won. If it was because H2H then Miami would have always been ahead of ND
Absolutely. The SEC and BiG, especially the SEC, are going to squeeze the CFP at every opportunity until 9 or 10 of the 12 participants come from those conferences. I absolutely, positively guarantee that there will never again be even the possibility of 2 G5 teams, and that there will be "standards" which will make it virtually impossible for even one to qualify. A similar process will then be used to make sure that no more than one Big 12 or ACC team gets in.
I actually think having ND in the ACC would be worse for the other members. 8/10 years they'd be the only ACC team.

Or, they wanted to wait to this point to swap Miami/ND to make it less a debate that could matter. What is done is what is done. Nothing ND can do at this point.

I think the low ratings of the games are going to greatly hurt ESPN. Both the CFP first round games (and maybe later one) and the bowl games, which are meaningless. Fans are getting tired of all of the machinations of the CFP committee and their inexplicable changes from week to week. With all of the seeming politics involved why should we care. Let just the fans of the teams playing watch. I think we're slowly (or maybe not so slowly) creeping toward the situation the SEC leadership seems to be concerned about -- that it will just be them and the B1G and the rest of the country won't care. But they're the ones re pushing this in that direction, as well as ESPN.

Within 3 years of this new iteration which will allow the SEC and Big to each get about 6 or 7 teams in out of 16, most of the nation will just tune out, because the local interest will be gone.

Part of the ratings problem is that the CFP keeps putting games on against the NFL, which is colossally dumb.

Oregon/JMU and Ole Miss/Tulane are airing vs. Eagles/Commanders and Packers/Bears. The ratings will stink because of that. No one can compete with the NFL, and certainly not two games involving G6 teams.

The quarterfinals has a game on NYE (OSU vs. Miami/aTM winner). That night is also ratings poison and the game will suffer for it.

Then they're forced to play the Final 4 on a Thu & Fri night (1/8-1/9) to avoid NFL Wild Card weekend.

If these dopes were smart they'd be starting the playoffs this weekend and play the title game on New Year's late afternoon. But no one in CFB is smart.

That would be there other mistake because it’s the easiest to make the playoffs from the ACC if the power five
There's a better chance of you and me having a beer on the moon than them joining a conference. NBC will continue paying them big $$ and obviously that gets funneled right back into the football program. Meanwhile their roster is loaded with young talent and they just signed the second best class in the country. I assume there will be 16 spots next year. That will make it a little harder to screw them but then again you can't underestimate the creativity of these folks.

I agree with a lot of what you say, particularly the last line. Never understood why many SU fans (and other ACC school's fans) are clamoring for ND to join the league. Would just put another L on the ledger with no clear benefit to these schools.

Look at who Ole Miss played and tell me why they are 6th? Then add to that they lost their HC and they should be at best the 9 seed.
Ole Miss, Bama and OU are all fugazy. Obviously one of the latter two has to advance. That game should set offensive football back a few decades.
