Average: 2378/2209 = 1.077 vs. 2216/2200 = 1.007 We were 18-1 when we won this stat.

I’ve been keeping track of this for about a decade and there have bene two occasions when the losing team won this stat, (due to rounding off in a close game). As I recall the other one was a Clemson game, too.

This is a little more interesting as the winning team isn’t quite automatically the winner of this stat. But it’s close. Maybe I should skip the offensive reboudns and turnovers in figuring out the nubme rof possessions.

Our offense was worse in the losses but our defense was a lot worse. But if they could consistently play as they do in the wins, we’d have a pretty good team.

People comment on our bad starts but mediocre second halves turned out to be the bigger problem.

Average: 666/567 = 1.17 vs. 564/522 = 1.08 We were 8-5 when we won this stat.
In wins: 382/285 = 1.34 vs. 273/277 = 0.99 In losses: 284/282 = 1.01 vs. 291/245 = 1.19
I was thinking of dropping this stat next year but there does seem to a gap in wins vs. losses in terms of whether the refs call it a shooting foul or a common foul.
