This testimony was part of the college basketball fraud trial.

Shocking...

I've been asking for a while: basketball is super slimy but not a word about football? Football which makes tons more money for colleges than basketball is clean? I think the only reason why the NCAA doesn't follow the money in football is because they know the factories will leave the organization the moment that they try to do that. Hopefully the FBI will take care of that problem for us.

Blazer is the guy the FBI was after for ordinary white collar crime related to his financial advising and then had the basketball stuff drop into their laps. This is the first time anyone involved in any aspect of the case has said anything about football. All the people on the wiretaps were connected to basketball programs.

Everyone "knows" every football program in the SEC except Vanderbilt and in the Big XII except Kansas are dirty. Unless and until someone is willing to bring evidence backing up what everyone "knows" to the NCAA, they can't act.

The Clemson assistant bragging that football is good because they have things that run tight was alluding to this. Despite what many think, the people running these operations aren't some random drunk on a barstool. It's usually intelligent, successful people who just happen to be big fans of certain programs and carry things out pretty meticulously.

For example:

My close family friend attends a club and that night at the club there's a promo that every attendee that came in and pays the cover is given a raffle ticket. The trusted family friend wins the publicly promoted raffle that night and takes home $5k cash. No way for NCAA to prove (and would have to do extensive due diligence to find out that she even won in the first place) that a Syracuse fan funded the door prize and told the club owner who the "random" winner would be.
