I left a message about getting a group sales set up. I'll probably limit it to about 100. Ticket prices should be $10-20 cheaper per than going through SU and should be in a better spot. I really expect this game to be a nooner but we'll see. Both 3 day weekends' games are at Cuse so there were not any other obvious choices.

I expect to set up a low maintenance tailgate (i.e. simple menu)

I'm starting signup right now...tell me how many below (non binding)
People driving to Tampa...let me know if you can bring a canopy, tables, grill, etc...

BTW, I just booked a room at the Comfort Inn next to the stadium for $64 (AAA) plus tax...it isn't anything great but it is convenient to the stadium and a $7-10 cab ride from the airport. If I can convince my wife to come along...I'll probably book over at Clearwater Beach.

NOTE: I just did an airfare check out of Cuse and Rochester to Tampa and Orlando. Flying out of Rochester is about $100 cheaper than Cuse.

NOTE: All commitments are nonbinding save for rrlbees

Pencil me in for 1, maybe 2 or 3.

I went down to Tampa for the UConn-USF game in 2010, stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just down the road. They have shuttles to the stadium but you can also walk there. If you're taking a trip with the guys, the stadium road was strip club central. If you're with the wife, clearwater beach was great and is about 30 minutes away.

Gotta be Dale Mabry Blvd. ;)

I'm in for 1.

Did it two years ago, good time.

Of course, the winning helped.

Bump

Anyone else interested? If not I'll buy 40 tix and work off that...

It's a great place to tailgate.
We had a blast 2 years ago and got several board members together.

I would expect Swish and SarasotaPaul to be in.

USF rep told me group prices haven't been set yet but he expects them to be around $30.

Looks like we met our minimum...for a group order. Keep them (the tix requests) coming.

So yeah, misread this post and thought it was for USC not USF. I'm almost definitely not gonna make it to Florida next year.

Bump, I have around 50-60 tix spoken for...I don't plan to buy them until the early summer.

Just a little motivation...late October is still definitely swimmable down in FL, Siesta Beach is about 45 mins south of Tampa (Ranked Number 1 in the US for 2012)

2-4 We'll be driving over from FLA east coast and can bring whatever needed ie grille etc.

Since this is non-binding...

30% chance I go and need 2 tickets
10% chance I go and need 4 tickets (so total chance I go of 40%)
60% chance I can't make it

EDIT: I wonder how many more months before next season's NHL schedule is announced (especially since this season is still going)? Would be great if I could combine this trip with a Rangers/Lightning game.

Guys still not too late...probably put the order in about 4 weeks. I will ask if they can hold another 20 tix adjacent for late adds. Also, I plan to golf 18 holes...send me a pm if you want to play on Fri afternoon. I can get us access to MacDill AFB golf course for up to a foursome if interested...should be much cheaper.

We have 8 confirmed Mark and will have 2 grilles, paper plates etc.

This shaking up to be a good one. Really looking forward to it!

Bump

Once last call for anyone looking to go to the USF game. It looks like about 50 folks.

Mark

I just talked to John in group sales @USF. They are behind this year due to late renewals (sound familiar?) plus the Sun Dome grand reopening this Fall is causing a major reshuffling of tix. Anyways he expects to sell us tix in early June. Our seats should be pretty good (better than SU visitors section) and will cost less. Probably around $30. I'll make one last request for anyone who wants to join us around Memorial Day Weekend. I have about 50 tix committed. We will be doing a tailgate with help from the FL based Cuse fans.

For those of you still on the fence, Get Your Cold One Here: Top Ten NFL Football Stadiums states:
3. Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Considered one of the most unique stadiums in all of sports and the "crown jewel" of the NFL by many, Raymond James hosted Super Bowl XLIII on February 1, 2009. The stadium actually has a scale model of a pirate ship (built by Disney) right in the end zone, and when the Buccaneers score a touchdown, cannons fire T-shirts and other novelty items into the stands. Two large HDTV screens—the first ones installed in the NFL—bring the game to those high up in the stands. Sunlight floods into the open stadium, and Tampa's gorgeous weather makes Raymond James one of the nicest places to watch a game. Take advantage of the pleasant clime at great nearby family attractions such as Busch Gardens and Sea World Orlando. If you want to get as close as possible to a lion or tiger without becoming its breakfast, head to Tampa's Big Cat Rescue. Of course, if nightlife is more your thing, you'll find tons of hopping bars and clubs in the neighborhood of Ybor City, especially along 7th Avenue.
It's a great venue, (typically) gorgeous weather, and convenient tailgating... assuming you prefer grass over paved tailgating surfaces and a short level walk (or wobble/waddle ?) from the tailgate to the game.

As posted above they don't even want to talk to me about group sales until June...I guess that could be good news as we could get better seats down low (after seasons tix requests come in). I have at least 50 going so far...if you want to go (even lurkers) send me a message. The more the merrier. I'll probably cut off tix sales around 70.

Bump pls review your number of tix and let me know this week if different. Last chance for others to join in. I will buy as soon as USF sells group tix
Looks like we at about 85 tix right now I'll cut off sales at 100.

Too late for my 3?
