What’s closer reality is there’s about eighteen billion things in the world more enjoyable than going to a Syracuse basketball game right now - including watching the janitor at Starbucks mopping the floor while drinking hot chocolate.  The problem isn’t that parents needed Syracuse basketball as a bonding experience - it’s that there was always a load of other options available for people to move on to if Syracuse fell down the list of options.  It’s now fallen so far down the list it’s not even on it anymore for a lot of people.  Personally I’m very capable of having a great time taking my kids skiing or ice skating while simultaneously being disappointed something I used to enjoy a lot isn’t a realistic option anymore.  But I also know going to Syracuse basketball games would still be a viable option if the team was regularly making the NCAA tournament - and part of that is I’ve got no interest in this garbage anymore myself.

You may want to claim you don’t to judge anyone’s parenting (although you then proceeded to do so anyway) - but I’m more than willing to judge this take of yours.  It’s vile and judgmental and based on misrepresenting what people are saying  - do better.
