Interesting, it shows we would be fairly significant favorites over all the other 8 seeds. Much more so than against (9)Baylor.

there's no way that 538 has a good model for everything they try to predict

it is interesting to look at the bracket by brand sponsor of the schools

all 1, 8 and 9 seeds are NIKE and 3 out of 4 16 seeds are NIKE as well...hmmmmm

so the 1-16 and 8-9 games are 15/16th NIKE......


NIKE has 40 schools

ADIDAS has 9

UNDER ARMOR has 15



EAST has 11 NIKE, 2 ADIDAS and 3 UA
SOUTH has 9 NIKE, 1 ADIDAS and 6 UA
WEST has 11 NIKE, 4 ADIDAS, 1 UA
MIDWEST has 9 NIKE, 2 ADIDAS 5 UA

NIKE vs NIKE matchups: 12
NIKE vs ADIDAS matchups: 6
NIKE vs UA matchups: 10
ADIDAS vs ADIDAS: 0
ADIDAS vs UA: 3
UA vs UA: 1

IS NCAA throwing adidas a bone...not making it play itself in any first rounder?


not sure what to make of it all but it seems the matchups were not random as far as what schools are playing each other and what brand they wear, imo.


If I had to guess I would say

EAST winner: NIKE
SOUTH winner: UA
WEST winner: NIKE
MIDWEST: NIKE

Adidas has the best shot in the west but nevada, vemont, north kentucky and arizona state dont seem to have a great chance, imo.

maybe kansas or wofford can come out of the midwest to give every brand at least 1 final four team...
