Dungey's got a lot riding on his senior season. It's an NFL audition, and the chance to cement his legacy.

That said, he's yet to make it through a season healthy, and based on the Who is Dungey articles, he doesn't connect the way he plays to the injuries. Seems to view the injuries as more coincidental circumstances than caused by anything.

For the team, we've collapsed without him, but we may have guys behind him that can contribute at a high level and keep the team on track. I think we'd all prefer Dungey just make it through the year cleanly.

Gun to my head... I think it is a part of his identity as a football player to exhibit an unhealthy level of fearlessness, so his injury risk remains high. I very much hope to be wrong, but I do not think he will make it through the season.

Prove me wrong, Eric.

I can't imagine him not getting hurt at some point. I just hope if/when that happens he only misses a half, or a game, and comes back. The season ending injuries have been back breakers.

We play NFL like defenses in the ACC and he runs around like Ken Stabler. I'd put it at 85% he gets hurt again.

He needs to completely change how he plays the position for him to have a chance and he still may be a sitting duck back there. I shudder to think about that front 4 with Clemson and them dialing up some blitzes. They are gonna want payback in a major way at Death Valley.

Saw a stat today that 55% of Power 5 schools had multiple QBs start a game last year.

It's not the same as it used to be. Go back and watch the 1991 Florida game on Youtube. Graves gets rolled up, and two players carry him off the field. He goes back in the next drive.

It's unlikely given all he does for this offense, but I'm hopeful.

Which injury was due to unhealthy fearlessness?
I actually don't think any of the ones that knocked him out were, but there have been multiple times when he's remained on the field even though he didn't look right and was clearly laboring and ended up getting pasted.

I based my iggy predictions on the answer being no and staying with that, unfortunately.

With an improved offensive line, Dungey should be able to stay in the pocket and hopefully spread it around more. We need more receivers to get more touches.

Dungey is a beast runner though and that is just the way he plays football. I love it.
Maybe we should have another poll that asks “how many defensive backs will Dungey knock over on his way to the end zone this season?”

Not this year... I'm told we've got someone who can step in without missing a beat

I've got 7 as the over / under on number of defenders he leaps.

I think DeVito will take some snaps from him this year. Hopefully with less workload, he will playing for 13 games this year.

he is to macho and aggressive to not get hurt
