I think there are very few if any QBs we could’ve gotten that would make this version of SU football into a winning team. That’s how good McCord has been for us. There are only a handful of college QBs out there that could make us competitive with our online and run game issues (not to mention our defensive woes) and McCord is one of them. The others I don’t think we had any chance at getting. We’re very fortunate that Fran was able to land him. It’s probably the best thing Fran has done so far.  I like what Fran is doing but if we’re looking at things objectively, this season probably would’ve gone down as a complete throw away if not for McCord. That’s how much a QB like that change things. But, we did get him, so good on Fran. By the way, I don’t think McCord will do much in the NFL if anything. I had a guy argue with me that he was the next Brady or Manning. I don’t think so but that doesn’t mean he’s not a really, really good college QB who’s been a lifesaver for us.
