"They just didn't do enough against the top half of their conference" "They simply had a couple bad losses that really stood out" (while other years they would stress good wins vs bad losses) "We looked at that Pitt / SU game as a play in game" (even though at other times they say this never happens) basically, this is a fun endeavor trying to determine if we are in or out, just don't fool yourself into thinking its anything other than a complete guessing game.
