Not much, so far as we know this year, because head coach Doug Marrone has closed practices through the first week and into the second.
 
The Orange, coming off of a disappointing 5-7 campaign last fall, have some decent-sized holes to fill — losing six starters on offense and three more on defense.
 
With three of last year’s regulars and three other likely starters sitting out this spring while healing from various surgeries, some younger players and backups will get valuable experience. And, the return of former starter Marcus Sales at receiver and running back Prince-Tyson Gulley coming back after missing most of last season should make the spring a little more interesting than usual. Until practices are opened up, we won’t know who’s playing where, exactly, or which units they’re working with.
 
Marrone says he’ll let everyone have a look soon enough, maybe even later this week. Some questions should be answered by the time SU holds its Spring Game on April 21 in the Carrier Dome.
