Well, perception is EVERYTHING!
The PSU scandal went viral despite all the facts not being out yet.
How many people were like us, watching a game & then seeing a scroll about this BFine mess?
The headline's the thing.
Alot of folks won't wait for details, but will reach their own conclusions based on the tenor of these allegations.
In a sick way, having the PSU scandal ahead of these allegations gives the SU administration a blue-print on how NOT to handle this kinda thing. The "shock factor" is lessened somewhat as well.

Now we wait for the facts to come out, & lets hope they're not devastating to the program Again, what role if any did JB & the SU administration play in these allegations...if they're proven?

Depending on whether it is true, and who knew what when, we may deserve the death penalty.

Honestly, I'm Cuse til I die, but if there was a cover-up then JB & everyone involved needs to go.
This ain't about sports.

This thread is absurd.

PSU went viral because Paterno knew, according to the grand jury.

There is no evidence JB knew, so why are people assuming he did?

The death penalty? Are you kidding?

If there's evidence of a cover up, that can be a topic, but right now we're about a million miles from there.

There are people in CNY that have known about this for years. It's not made up

I agree. But if there was an institutional cover up, the institution must be punished.

With a comment like that, you sound like someone who knew for years.

The 80's were different times. I doubt coaches looked for that kind of stuff back then.

If Bernie Fine was allowed to molest children (by anybody I dont care if it was JB or not) because he is a good basketball coach then priorities are seriously out of whack and the program needs to be shut down forever, or at least until priorities get back to a sane level at SU. I feel the same way about Penn St.

I don't think Bernie has ever been that great of a basketball coach to go to those depths.

It is amazing to me how many people can write uneducated and idiotic posts when they have absolutely no idea as to the facts of a situation. People just need to keep their thoughts to themselves unless they have some facts of which to base their comments.

Man, that Coach K comment about Paterno's generation & how things were handled in the past seems poignant right now.
It was the 80's after all- not to excuse child sexual abuse obviously, but how the administration handled an allegation then, as opposed to now, might be a factor.

The PSU scandal went viral because you had grand jury testimony that leaked to the public where witnesses corroborated claims.

And this could go viral due to other kids/adults coming forward now
