Jim Boeheim still looking for his first ACC tournament win and the Orange are heading into the match-up on a two-game losing streak. But fans say even though there's been a lot of ups and downs this season...they're confident their team will put up a fight. "As long as they can work together and stay strong through the rest of the game, hopefully things will go well," said Dan Gross, an SU basketball fan. "It's tough, but at the same time, it's Syracuse basketball, and Jim Boehiem's never had a losing season in 40 years so you always know that they're going to at least compete and make these games fun and exciting," said Varun Raghupathi, another SU basketball fan. So, will Pitt feel extra-confident going against Syracuse — a team it beat twice this season — in the ACC tournament second round on Wednesday? “We beat Virginia Tech and we beat Georgia Tech and then we lost to them,” Jeter said. “This game is a little different. The intensity level is always picked up for Syracuse for some reason. We’ve had their number for the past two years. We’ve just got to go out there and play hard.” The Panthers’ success against Syracuse stretches beyond this season. They’ve beaten the Orange four-straight times, and coach Jamie Dixon has a career record of 14-6 against them. But, as Jeter alluded to with his story, Pitt can’t rely on that success.
