Welcome to World Music Day!
The Fête de la Musique, also known as Make Music Day[1][2] or World Music Day,[3] is an annual music celebration taking place on 21 June.
The concept of an all-day musical celebration on the days of the solstice, was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang. The festival later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.[4]

Latest Syracuse Campus Framework Renderings Include Renovated Dome and More (TNIAAM; Cassillo)
In the long-running Carrier Dome renovations saga, we hear bits and pieces of things, see renderings that Syracuse shouts down and hear more talk than we see images.
Lucky us, we've finally moved past that portion of the conversation and into the next phase of things:
ACTUAL RENDERINGS AND CONFIRMED PLANS.
Today, Syracuse released campus framework documents to the university community (you can download the PDF here), which include a bunch of images of the proposed changes, explanations of things we hadn't see before, and more. There's good stuff about the entirety of campus in there, so would suggest reading through the full 42-page doc. But for our purposes here, we're calling out the athletics portions of things:
SU's almost definitely getting out of the Carrier naming rights deal
One of the biggest pieces of conversation around the renovation has been the Dome's naming rights deal, which had a lifetime guarantee for Carrier. Obviously sponsorship deals have changed since this original agreement was signed for $2.75 million total, and SU would like to recoup some of that money.

Get Used To Virginia Basketball Winning - Today's U (todaysu.com; Mettlen)
When posed with the question of naming the elite basketball programs in the ACC, some come to mind immediately. North Carolina and Duke are no-brainers. Louisville and Syracuse are relative newcomers to the league, but their spots among college hoops most prestigious teams are well earned.
But what about Virginia?
It’s hard to argue against what Tony Bennett has done there the past few years. Even without a Final Four to his credit, Bennett has turned Virginia back into an annual contender for the ACC title, even as the conference continues to get deeper and tougher.
If you throw out Bennett’s first two seasons at UVa, where it took time to repair the damage done to the program by Dave Leitao, the seven-year Cavaliers coach has been as good as anyone in league play. Virginia has won at least 22 games each of the past five seasons and been to the NCAA Tournament four times while suffering a serious snub in 2013 after finishing fourth in the ACC.

7. Malachi Richardson, Syracuse | 6'6", 200 pounds, Freshman
Strengths: Richardson left school after one season because of two qualities that appeal to NBA teams: his shooting stroke and incredible length. Richardson only shot 35.3% from three-point land as a freshman at Syracuse, but has perfected a gorgeous shooting stroke. He pairs that form with tremendous length for his size and position, owning a 7’0” wingspan. With that size, Richardson should have the tools to guard multiple positions. He’s not only a solid catch–and–shoot player, but Richardson can also attack closeouts off the dribble. At just 20, NBA teams see the foundation for a complete, well-rounded NBA wing.
Weaknesses: While Richardson is known as a shooter, his stroke is extremely streaky, as his numbers show. He did not score efficiently from anywhere on the floor, only converting 36.9% of his shots from the field. His defensive ability outside of Syracuse’s 2–3 zone is a very big question. Richardson is not a particularly great athlete—despite his 38” max vertical at the Combine—lacking quickness and explosiveness. He’ll need to prove his ability to defend in on-ball perimeter situations.

For LeBron and Cleveland, the lesson Dolph Schayes learned Upstate - Buffalo News Live (buffalonews.com; Kirst)
LeBron James wept on the court Sunday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. His Cleveland Cavaliers had just upended the Golden State Warriors for the third straight time. The comeback gave the Cavaliers their first National Basketball Association championship. It brought a major sports championship to Cleveland for the first time in 52 years.
James, a native of Akron, wiped his tears and talked about what it meant to win a title for the people of northeast Ohio. He talked about how it felt to earn a trophy for an industrial region that had gone through decades of hard times, an industrial region that he considers home.
One of the few people who could fully appreciate what James was saying, a basketball Hall of Famer who predicted years ago that James would feel this way, barely missed being here to see it come to be.
Dolph Schayes died in December, at 87. He was a witness to the beginning of the entire Cavaliers dream, which really got underway in Buffalo. On Oct. 14, 1970, Schayes was head coach of the Buffalo Braves when the Braves played the Cavaliers, their expansion counterparts, at the old Memorial Auditorium. It was the first NBA game for both teams.
