You've had a beard so long, that you don't know what you'd look like without one. And, your lady friend isn't so fond of it. Today brings the extra incentive you need, to shave it off and go without a beard for the first time in who knows when. So, bare it all and show off your chin. If you don't like it, you can always grow it back. Have a happy and clean-shaven No Beard Day !! SU News Gamecocks, Syracuse tip at 2 p.m. on day of football game at Clemson (postandcourier.com; Caraviello) South Carolina’s men’s basketball game against Syracuse will tip off at 2 p.m. on Nov. 26, the same day the Gamecocks play at Clemson in football. The Gamecocks and Orange will meet at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, in a game that will be available for viewing only online, at ESPN3. The start time for USC’s football game at Clemson that day will not be known until the week immediately prior to kickoff. Tip times and television were released Monday for all of South Carolina’s non-conference games for the 2016-17 season, which begins Nov. 11 with a 6:30 p.m. opener against Louisiana Tech at Colonial Life Arena. USC will host Michigan at 5 p.m. on Nov. 23, in a game televised on ESPNU. South Carolina’s Dec. 12 contest against Seton Hall at Madison Square Garden in New York will tip at 9 p.m., with television yet to be determined. USC’s first true road game, Dec. 17 at South Florida, will tip at 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. USC will host Clemson Dec. 21 in a 9 p.m. game on ESPNU, and play at 9 p.m. on ESPNU when it travels to Memphis on Dec. 30. Syracuse Basketball player previews: Matthew Moyer (TNIAAM; Szuba) Each day leading up to Orange Madness we will be releasing our player previews for the 2016-2017 Syracuse basketball season. Today’s player preview: Matthew Moyer It feels as though Matt Moyer has been committed to Syracuse for about as long as Trevor Cooney wore Orange. But as Moyer finally made his way to the Salt City, he first had some issue with grade three turf toe that kept him out of practice. Now cleared to practice, Moyer finds himself behind a loaded front-court with guys like Tyler Roberson and Tyler Lydon assuming the lion’s share of minutes at the forward positions. Throw in Andrew White who will likely spend some time at forward and another ESPN 100 recruit in Taurean Thompson and suddenly there aren’t enough minutes to go around. Moyer brings great athleticism to Syracuse along with a try-to-dunk-everything attitude. He’s a prototypical Syracuse forward with great size, length and leaping ability who figures to be a very good player. He can also step out and shoot the ball a bit. Injuries aside, the only issue for Moyer will be the lack of available playing time. Minutes will open up in his sophomore year following Tyler Roberson’s graduation and Tyler Lydon’s likely departure to the NBA. In the interim he’ll be able to refine his game, but he’s worth getting excited about. He plays the game with a ton of passion. ... The North Carolina-based, all-you-can-eat buffet chain presented plans to open an 11,000-square-foot restaurant at 115 Simon Drive in Syracuse with seating for 400. The new restaurant was slated for a vacant three-acre lot just west of Lowe's and north of SEFCU, facing Midler Avenue and Interstate 690. Since then, there's been no sign of any activity on the site and numerous readers have asked Syracuse.com for an update. Syracuse zoning officials said they believe the plans were approved by the city, but there's been no sign of any construction on the site or signs pointing to future development as a Golden Corral. Golden Corral franchising officials said the Syracuse site was still on the list for upcoming projects, but isn't one of those planned for the immediate future. Bob McDevitt, senior vice president for franchise development, did not return calls. On a company-provided list of available markets in New York, Syracuse is not listed - an indicator the chain still plans to come here. Cortland, Ithaca and New Hartford were the closest markets listed as available. Golden Corral last operated on Fourth Street in Fulton in Oswego County, but that location closed in 2005.
