This is the player that the Orange thought they were getting when they took White’s commitment as a graduate transfer.

Jim Boeheim’s team is all of a sudden nationally relevant on the heels of three straight ACC wins and the 6-7 White is a major reason why.

The skilled forward is averaging 26.3 points over his last three games while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 42.8 percent from three-point range, and 17-of-18 from the foul line.

Syracuse is 14-9 overall and 6-4 in ACC play heading into Saturday’s game against Virginia at the Carrier Dome and will probably need to get to 11 conference wins to be comfortably in the NCAA Tournament considering early season losses to UConn, Georgetown, and St. John’s.

The only way this team can win five more games in the best league in the history of the sport is have White to continue to play at an elite level.[/I]
