Former Syracuse Basketball Star Tyler Roberson Works Out With Magic Johnson and LA Lakers (itlh.com; Weisleder)

Former Syracuse basketball players continue to get looks from the NBA. This time the always controversial, Tyler Roberson.

On Monday, former Syracuse basketball big man Tyler Roberson, along with a handful of other NBA prospects worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers for one-and-a-half hours.

The legendary Magic Johnson helped run the practice. To be honest, there was absolutely no better opportunities for Roberson to showcase his abilities, then in front of arguably the best Point Guard of all-time.

The NBA draft is on June 22nd, in just over two weeks from now. While there is a very small chance that Roberson will hear his name called out of the 60 soon-to-be drafted players, the Syracuse product is willing to accept that, and put in his best effort to hopefully make a summer league team, and take the long route to the NBA.

Roberson is coming off a lengthy four-year campaign at Syracuse, and while many thought he would break out after a strong 2016 Final Four run, Roberson didn’t live up to expectations this season.

Former Syracuse Basketball Star Andrew White Visits With Detroit Pistons (itlh.com; Weisleder)

It seems like a fruitful year for former Syracuse basketball players trying to make their way into the bigs. Andrew White is latest player to get a look.

It’s raining Orange leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft!

Yesterday, Ben Sigel of NunesMagician.com reported that former Syracuse basketball star Andrew White worked out with the Detroit Pistons.

The 6-foot-6 Guard from Syracuse has been projected to be picked in many mock drafts, but hasn’t seen a draft projection earlier than the late stages of the second round.

The NBA’s big men dominated in the 1990s and early 2000s, but those days are far behind us. The evolution of the three-pointer has allowed teams like the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets to take over the NBA.

White’s athleticism and defensive ability may not be what gets him drafted, rather his incredible
three-point shooting skills. White posted arguably the best 3-point filled season in Syracuse’s lengthy history.

ACC Basketball: Preseason All-ACC team (keepingiotheel.com; Griffin)

With the early entry date having come and gone, who are the top picks for preseason All-ACC player of the year?

Since the first two games of the NBA Finals hasn’t been as exciting as everyone had hoped, maybe it’s time to turn our eyes back to the college game.

With all the early entry decisions now official, let’s take a look at the front-runners for the All-ACC team next season.

This is not an easy task as 12 of the 15 players selected to the three teams last season either graduated or went pro. That includes last season’s ACC Player of the Year and ACC Freshmen of the Year.

This leaves a lot of open spots for future stars to fill.

Before we get into that, though, just a quick note. A lot can happen between now and the end of the season, as we’ve seen in recent years.

Last year, the ACC coaches picked Grayson Allen, Jaron Blossomgame, Joel Berry II, London Perrantes, and Dennis Smith Jr. for preseason All-ACC first team.

Guess how many of those five players made the first team. Zero. Allen didn’t even get votes for honorable mention. Jackson, who won ACC Player of the Year, was voted to the second team and didn’t even get a preseason ACC Player of the Year vote.

Luke Kennard, Bonzie Colson, John Collins, and Donovan Mitchell, the rest of the All-ACC first team, didn’t even get a single vote for anything.

So with all of that worked out, here are the picks for the All-ACC preseason team ordered from least to most likely to win ACC Player of the Year.

Upstate NY angler's gargantuan largemouth bass had to be released (PS; Figura)

It was a gargantuan bass, but it had to be released after it was caught.

Frank Thomas, of Marion, N.Y said he and his family were camping last weekend at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Campground in Otsego County, which is on the shore of Crystal Lake. The family was there because Thomas's daughter was competing in a school marching band competition in nearby Sherburne.

Thomas's son, Nicholas, fishing in the lake and casting a plastic Senko worm, landed a huge largemouth bass on Saturday. The lake is about six acres in size.

"Wish I had a scale with us, but I've caught plenty of 5 pounders and this one was by far bigger than that," the proud father said. "She was returned unscathed, but I'm sure Nick will always remember this big mama!"

Opening day for the statewide fishing season opener for smallmouth and largemouth bass during which bass may be kept is a little more than a week away (June 17). However, anglers in most waterways across the state are still allowed to fish for bass outside of the regular season which runs until Nov. 30, but must release them.

Go Tyler! I heard from one of his former coaches. He's in some league (starts with the letter C?) I thought or maybe this is a fallback plan. The info I get is always so cryptic as my source is not a big basketball fan :)
