The pairings for the 2017 ACC-Big Ten Challenge were announced on Thursday. The matchups give college basketball fans a little something to look forward to with the 2017-18 season still several months away.
The ACC-Big Ten Challenge will consist of 14 games between teams in the two conferences. The schedule includes a Syracuse-Maryland game at the Carrier Dome. The dates and times of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge games will be announced at a later date, although the games are usually played on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in late November.
Last year, Syracuse lost at Wisconsin in the Challenge.
Here is a look at each of this year's 14 games and a ranking of the match-ups.

Notre Dame has Bonzi Colson, who could compete with Bridges for NPOY honors. If both are First Team All-American selections come March, I wouldn't be surprised. In fact, I'd lean toward it more likely that that happens vs. not. This is a big opportunity for a Notre Dame team that would boost its resume in a huge way if it could find a way to pilfer a road victory. Winner: Michigan State
2. Miami at Minnesota Two top-25 teams right here. Miami is a sleeper pick to win the ACC, in fact. Jim Larranaga is bringing back a lot of talent to a team that won 21 games last season. Minnesota, which gets the benefit of playing at home, is projected as a top-four team in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers were a No. 5 seed in this past NCAA Tournament. Star watch: Minnesota's 6-foot-8 sophomore, Amir Coffey, could be ready for a big jump next season. Miami has its own stud sophomore in Bruce Brown. Should be a fun game.Winner: Miami

The Terps are 0-3 in the series since joining the Big Ten. They lost to Virginia in 2014, North Carolina in 2015 and Pittsburgh in 2016. This is the second straight year Maryland will play a team that joined the ACC in 2013 and only overlapped with the Terps for one year.
Syracuse has missed two of the last three NCAA Tournaments, but made a run to the Final Four as a No. 10 seed in 2016. Last season, the Orange went 19-15, ending their season in the second round of the NIT.
Some other matchups to keep an eye on include Michigan at defending champion North Carolina, as well as reigning Big Ten Rookie of the Year Miles Bridges and Michigan State visiting Notre Dame.

When you look at an NBA player, you look for a guy with those traits. I know there’s going to be questions about strength for a power forward and speed to defend NBA 3s. With a guy like him, you have to get him in for workouts to see if this is the guy they want.

The Syracuse Poster Project, a nonprofit civic arts organization, aims to inspire on even the rainiest of days. The project will do this through its new creative venture: stenciled haikus on downtown sidewalks that are only visible when wet.
Entitled “Splash Poetry,” the project has sprinkled different haikus around Syracuse which, when wet, appear as a light gray due to their water resistance.
For 16 years, the Poster Project has teamed up with local poets and Syracuse University illustration students to produce an annual series of poster art. It is displayed around the city of Syracuse and traditionally hung in the kiosks along Salina and Warren streets downtown. The organization has recently unveiled their 2017 poster lineup, alongside its “Splash Poetry” public art display.
Through the use of a biodegradable spray material, the interactive art will have a limited lifespan of approximately two to four months, depending on the intensity of the weather.
According to the press release, the meaning and intent of haiku is “to evoke a deep or profound realization about a topic as read in a specific environment.” The Poster Project hopes to avoid desensitization to text and create artwork that will capture the attention of people in the city and cause them to stop and think. The project also aims to “help brighten the bleak feelings that arise from our unseasonable weather.”
