Welcome to Crowded Nest Awareness Day!
Crowded Nest Awareness Day recognizes the condition of Crowded Nest Syndrome (affectionately referred to as CNS by many blogs and web articles) where you have children who have moved out of the house and you've gone through Empty Nest Syndrome only to have your children (and possibly their children) come back home again and/or having your parents or in-laws move in with you so you can care for them. Suddenly, this creates a feeling of a crowded nest. With the recent popping of the housing bubble and so many people out of work, this syndrome is something we're hearing quite a bit more of these days.
We've been unable to track down the origins of this holiday. The earliest reference to it that we could find was 2005.[1]

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim will be entering his 42nd season as the head coach of the Orange.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the court, Boeheim's son, Jimmy, will be beginning his freshman season at Cornell. Jimmy Boeheim committed to Cornell after graduating from Jamesville-DeWitt High School and then attending New Hampton (N.H.) Prep last year.
Last year, Syracuse beat Cornell 80-56 at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse leads the all-time series 91-31.

Syracuse Orange Basketball: Projected starting lineup for 2017-2018 | isportsweb (isportsweb.com; Carpenter)
Syracuse Orange basketball lost some huge names last year in Tyler Roberson, Tyler Lydon, DaJuan Coleman, Andrew White III, and John Gillon. The 2017-2018 basketball season will be a sneak peek at the future of the Orange. Syracuse will not have a senior on the roster, and only one graduate transfer in Geno Thorpe. Here is a projection at the starters for the season opener vs. Cornell.
Point Guard: Geno Thorpe
At this time last year, Frank Howard was expected to have a strangle hold on the point guard position. Howard worked on his three-point shot last offseason, and was a reliable three-point shooter last year, but really struggled with turnovers. Thorpe is a graduate transfer who started his career at Penn State, and finished his career for the USF Bulls.

Lyft ready to launch in Upstate NY, plans recruitment fairs across state (PS; AP)
Lyft says it's already recruited thousands of potential drivers ahead of its upstate New York launch later this month.
Lyft and Uber plan to begin service on June 29 in cities including Buffalo, Rochester, Albany and Syracuse, as well as all of Long Island.
The two ride-hailing apps had been limited to picking up passengers the New York City until lawmakers voted this year to permit the expansion.
Lyft says it will hold driver recruitment events in Buffalo this week and plans to hold similar job fairs in other cities.
Supporters of the upstate expansion of ride-hailing say it will be a boon for tourism and reduce drunken driving while creating new flexible jobs for local residents.
