Bridgeman, a two-time All-American at Louisville, is among the top bidders to acquire Sports Illustrated from Meredith Corporation after the company bought Time Inc. earlier this year, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. After spending 10 seasons in the NBA, Bridgeman built his fortune on Wendy's and Chili's franchises before focusing on bottling and distributing Coca-Cola in the Midwest. ... Former Louisville basketball player arrested on drug, weapon charges (kentucky.com; Peck) Chane Behanan, the former University of Louisville basketball player who was dismissed from the team for a violation of university rules a year after the Cardinals’ vacated 2013 national championship, was arrested Saturday night in Louisville. According to a report by the Courier Journal, Behanan, 25, is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a stolen firearm after he and others were pulled over in a traffic stop by Louisville Metro Police. Others in the car face similar charges. According to the arrest citation, Behanan was sitting next to a stolen “-style rifle,” and the vehicle had a “marijuana residue.” Behanan played at Louisville from 2011 to 2013. After his dismissal from the team for what was later revealed to be marijuana use, Behanan considered transferring, but instead opted to go pro. He went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, but was picked up in the developmental league draft by the G League’s Rio Grand Valley Vipers where he played one season. He has bounced between foreign leagues and other G League teams since. ... But there's no need to worry. Onondaga County sheriff's deputies, state troopers, and Camillus and DeWitt police officers will greet children and parents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during a "Share the Road" Expo during Tykes Tuesday. The free event, hosted by the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board, will include a mini bicycle rodeo, free bicycle helmet giveaway with fitting, free bicycle raffle and "Spot the Tot" demonstrations, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jon Seeber said. Children (and adults) will be able to sit inside a patrol car, get a SafeChild ID card and learn more about various educational topics, including: School bus safety, bicycle safety, motorcycle safety, teen drivers, senior drivers and child passenger/occupant restraint, Seeber said. "Experts from a wide variety of agencies and fields will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate various traffic safety techniques," he said. ...
