Welcome to International Panic Day!
The word panic is derived from the ancient Greek word Pan. Pan was the Greek god of shepherds, woods, and pastures, and when he would awake from a nap he would let out a yell that caused flocks to stampede. Greek authors coined the word "panikon" from this, which meant "sudden fear". Panic is "a sudden sensation of fear, which is so strong as to dominate or prevent reason or logical thinking, replacing it with an animalistic fight-or-flight reaction." Panic can happen in an individual or it can happen in large groups. It is not healthy for people to be in a constant panic, as stress levels are raised which can be detrimental to health. This day is dedicated to this sensation of panicking.

Syracuse Basketball: Rick Pitino gets into fray for 2022 four-star PG target (itlh; Adler)
With Syracuse basketball 2022 prospect Quadir Copeland transferring to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., for his senior season, I’ve prognosticated that his national rankings will continue to rise and his list of scholarship offers will keep growing.
The 6-foot-6 Copeland, a talented and under-rated point guard in his class, recently landed a new offer from Rick Pitino-led Iona, according to college basketball insider Adam Zagoria and several other tweets.
While Iona isn’t in one of the big-time power conferences, Pitino is a two-time national champion, and if he comes calling, that’s saying something, in my humble opinion.
Copeland, a four-star prospect according to , also recently obtained an offer from Oklahoma State out of the Big 12 Conference. Former Orange freshman forward Woody Newton recently transferred to Oklahoma State, by the way.

At this juncture, other offers to Copeland have arrived from teams such as Connecticut, Oregon, Miami, Maryland, Penn State, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s and Siena.

What are the Top-3 Moments for Boeheim's Army? (cnycentral.com; Tamurian)
The Basketball Tournament has become appointment watching for Syracuse Orange Basketball fans every summer since 2015.
The Winner-Take-All $2 Million event features Boeheim's Army, a squad of mostly former Orange stars battling it out as a sort of summer fix for fans waiting for the upcoming NCAA season.
This year, there's a renewed emphasis to make it back to the championship weekend with team booster Adam Weistman and several new stars on the squad.
There have been so many awesome moments in those seasons and certainly some that will forever live in Syracuse sports lore.
Here are my picks for the top-3 moments.

Locked On Syracuse - Daily Podcast On Syracuse Orange Football & Basketball: Boeheim's Army Roster Reveal and Do You Care How Many Non-Syracuse Guys Are On The Team? 6/17 on Apple Podcasts (apple.com; podcast; Locked on Syracuse)
Boeheim's Army got its roster in right before the buzzer and is set to compete in this year's The Basketball Tournament. The guys give their impressions of this year's team on paper and the new coach in charge. Plus, more additions are on the way. Could we see some Overseas Elite members join Boeheim's Army? Also, do you care that there might be up to four non-Syracuse players as well as a non-Syracuse head coach on this year's roster?
Tim Leonard and Tyler Aki discuss it all and more on the Tuesday edition of the Locked on Syracuse Podcast.

Boeheim's Army has the talent and size to win 2021 TBT - The Juice Online (the juice; McGlynn)
After back to back disappointments in The Basketball Tournament, Boeheim’s Army seems poised to make some noise in 2021. 2019 saw the Syracuse alumni felled in the regional final despite having home-court advantage. Meanwhile, their 2020 quest ended prematurely at the hands of a Cinderella story.
However, this retooled version of Boeheim’s Army means business. Complete with a new head coach, this team finally has the size needed to run the zone and get back to Syracuse Orange basketball.
The biggest addition, both literally and figuratively, is the 7’2″ Paschal Chukwu. The biggest struggle for Boeheim’s Army in recent years has been on the interior. As great of a player as he was, Hakim Warrick struggled to hold his own as a 6’9″ power forward being asked to play in the middle of the zone at age 35 in 2019. Those struggles led to the aggressive additions of Tyler Lydon and Chris McCullough in 2020. Unfortunately, COVID-19 prevented either of them from playing the adjusted format, leaving Syracuse woefully unprepared to handle opposing bigs once again.
Chukwu will solve all of that. His length and presence as a rim protector is invaluable. Moreover, Lydon and McCullough are expected to suit up this year, which means the Orange have plenty of size to rely on. It will be a very nice change after years of playing small ball. As the old saying goes, you can’t coach size.

Yards Grille: Maybe the best shaved beef sandwich in CNY (Dining Out Review) (PS; $; Marmaduke Woodman)
Yards Grille, located in Green Lakes Park, is a new venture by seasoned restauranteurs Mark Bullis and Nathan Fulmer, whose experience includes the Bull and Bear. We went to try the new menu, quite distinct from that offered at Bull and Bear, on a recent wet Tuesday evening.
Shareable bar food and starters range from dips to poutine and flatbreads ($10.50-$16); and sandwiches, burgers and main-dish salads are available ($11-$22). A brief list of mains runs from $15 to $23.
A cocktail renaissance of sorts has been happening in this area for years, and Yards Grille offers some appealing examples. The menu offers specialty drinks from $9 to $12, and sangria for two at $18.
