Will we see a running back duel between Minnesota’s Mohamed Ibrahim, who rushed for 1594 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, and Syracuse’s Sean Tucker? Will NFL-level prospects like Orange offensive tackle Matthew Bergeron and linebacker Mikel Jones suit up or skip the bowl game to preserve pro potential? [B]The Coyle Connection[/B] Mark Coyle’s tenure as AD at Syracuse was brief but impactful. Syracuse was fresh off the announcement of NCAA sanctions, were planning a major renovation of the Dome, went to Final Fours in both men’s and women’s basketball and won national titles in cross country and field hockey. But the biggest move Coyle made in [URL='https://www.syracuse.com/orangesports/2016/05/a_timeline_of_mark_coyles_tenure_as_athletic_director_at_syracuse_university.html']his 311-day tenure[/URL] in 2015 and 2016 was hiring Dino Babers as football coach to replace Scott Shafer. Babers will enter his eighth season as head coach of Syracuse in 2023. On the surface, the upcoming six-game home stand at the JMA Wireless Dome offers a chance for Syracuse to get right before the full-time ACC slate arrives.
