But the first documented proof of someone selling an ice cream sundae comes from Ithaca NY.  So I have to give to to them.

Also, the Wisconsin guy Berner would have only been 16 or 17 when he alledgely invented the sundae was the owner of a soda fountain.  Extremely unlikely a kid 16 or 17 would own a business like that.  And in his obituary, the date he claimed he invented the sundae was published as 1899.  Sounds like people found out when it really was invented (in Ithaca) and lied to retain their bogus claim.  For shame Wisconsin.  For shame.
