The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency voted unanimously to grant the exemptions to the developers of the Home2 Suites By Hilton under construction at 241 Elwood Davis Road. The breaks will save the developers $884,812 in property taxes over 10 years, $765,920 in sales taxes on construction materials and $105,000 in state mortgage recording tax. The property tax exemption is not 100%. The developers will pay $803,111 in property taxes over the 10 years of the agreement with the agency. That’s $884,812 less than they would pay without the exemption.
