TRob and BJ Lead US to Another Victory in Estonia (PS; Waters)
For the second day in a row, Syracuse University teammates Tyler Roberson and B.J. Johnson led the USA East Coast All-Stars to a victory in the Four Nations Cup in Talinn, Estonia, on Tuesday.
Unlike Monday's blowout win over Talinna Kalev, the USA East Coast All-Stars found themselves in a close game against the Austrian national team on Tuesday.
USA East Coast, a team of college players from across the U.S., held off the Austrian team for a 90-83 win.
Johnson led the East Coast All-Stars for the second time in as many days. Johnson, who had 16 points in Monday's 103-59 win over Talinna Kalev, registered 20 points in Tuesday's contest. Johnson, a 6-7 wing, also had eight rebounds.
Syracuse Will Host Long Beach State in 2014-15 (PS; Waters)
The Syracuse University men's basketball team will host Long Beach State on Dec. 28 at the Carrier Dome.
The game was on the schedule that Long Beach State officials released on Tuesday.
Syracuse and Long Beach State have met three times with Syracuse winning all three meetings. The last game was on Dec. 6, 2012, when Syracuse beat the 49ers 84-53 at the Carrier Dome.
Long Beach finished 15-17 last season, including an 11-7 record in the Big West Conference.
Syracuse is one of many top tier programs on Long Beach State's arduous non-conference schedule.
The 49ers will face BYU, Xavier, Kansas State and UCLA in the month of November.

JG and TE Have Fun at NBA Rookie Photo Shoot (PS; Ditota)
The NBA invited its drafted rookies to a recent photo shoot that allowed the players to reveal a little of themselves as the cameras rolled.

Fab Melo Signs with Pro Team in Brazil (PS; Waters)
Fab Melo has returned to his native Brazil to play professional basketball.
According to sportando's Twitter feed, Melo has signed with Brazilian club team Paulistano.
In two years, the former Syracuse University center has gone from being a first-round NBA draft pick to the NBA D-League to a pro team in Brazil.
The Boston Celtics selected Melo with the 22nd pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Melo had been the Big East's Defensive Player of the Year in 2012, but he was declared academically ineligible on the eve of the NCAA Tournament. He missed all of Syracuse's games in the NCAA tourney as the Orange advanced to the Elite Eight.

Florida State Schedule Offers Minimal Middle Ground (PS; Stevens)
With nonconference basketball schedules trickling out, it's time to give each ACC program's decision-making a thorough scrubbing. Who is doing itself a service with the NCAA tournament selection committee, and who is leaving itself vulnerable? Today provides an opportunity to examine Florida State.
The lesson was plenty harsh for Florida State back in 2006: Play a crummy nonconference schedule, and pay the penalty for it. The Seminoles went 9-7 in the ACC that year (back when more than just coaches believed a winning league record was a magic ticket to the postseason), faced the No. 316 nonconference schedule according to CollegeRPI.com and were sent to the NIT.
Coach Leonard Hamilton hasn't allowed his program to fall into that trap once in the eight seasons since. Instead, Florida State has settled into a nice routine of schedules that are rarely too arduous or too soft.

SU Chancellor Says Being Number 1 Party School is Not Good (PS; Herbert)
Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud is not happy SU's been named the top "party school" in the nation.
The Princeton Review's 2014 rankings placed Syracuse at No. 1 on its annual list, bumping it from last year's (dis)honoree, the University of Iowa. According to the Daily Orange, it's the first time in 21 years a private school has taken top prize.
Students flooded social media with pride, and two alumni wrote a list on Business Insider of 18 reasons "why Syracuse really is the best party school in the country." The article praised events like Mayfest, Juice Jam, Flip Night at Fagean's, and the Phi Psi fraternity's annual "Heaven and Hell" Halloween party.
